Hi I'm Mike Slade

I'm a Mormon. I love my family of six. I'm a computer programmer for a non-profit, online university.

About Me

In my wonderful family I have 4 children, three boys and a girl, the oldest being twelve years old. I love the outdoors, and spend most of my time with my family. I play basketball in the mornings, and enjoy most physical activity. I recently finished my masters degree and believe in continual education. I served as a missionary in Orange County, California. I loved giving of myself and watching people improve their lives when they realized their value, potential and responsibility.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to a knowledge that God lives and has a plan for me. I've lived the precepts of the gospel and found the gospel be the only way to obtain true lasting happiness. When trials come, I know that Jesus Christ has felt the anguish of this life; he knows how I feel and will help me through the trial. I've read and love the Bible, especially the New Testament, the life of Christ. I've also read the book of Mormon and have felt that it brings the spirit into my life and helps me understand Jesus Christ even more.

How I live my faith

I try to get rid of my selfishness by putting in perspective the many things that I do have and not focusing on those that I don't have. This lets me give of my belongings and myself. Every time I've sacrificed something on behalf of others it has brought happiness into my life, much more than the thing that I gave up.
