Hi I'm Meagan

and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a twenty-one year-old mother of two (a birthmother to one). I am happily married, but outside of the church. I am a convert to the church. I like to sing, read, and play with my son.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was sixteen years old. I was dating a Mormon when I was in eighth grade, and when I met his mother and she told me about the gospel and the meaning of family, I decided to look more into it. When I first walked into the chapel, I could feel the spirit. It still happens to this day. My parents were divorce and my father did not approve, so I did not join the church when I was in the eighth grade. It wasn't until I was cleaning a table while at work that the missionaries stopped by. They were supposed to meet a potential member, but knew she would not show, and came anyway. I walked over to them and made an appointment to start taking lessons again. Later that summer, I made the decision (with my mother's approval) to get baptized. The missionary who taught me the first time came all the way from California just to baptize me. I was baptized July 24th, 2004. I knew when I first joined the church that it was right, and even after a brief falling out, I still know it is. I hope that you too can find this peace.

How I live my faith

I have not been currently active in the church. I have not gone for several years, but my husband and I have just moved into a new town, and I am hoping to start regularily attending.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Meagan
No, there is nothing secret going on in the Mormon temples. Everyone knows what's going on in the temple, but only certain people are allowed to attend the events. Marriages happen in the temple. Sealings (a family becomes forever) happen in the temple. Baptisms for the dead happen in the temple. Only certain L.D.S. members are allowed because some are not old enough to attend (like marriage), and some members aren't allowed because they are not temple worthy. To be temple worthy, you must uphold the beliefs of the church like abstaining from premarital sex, smoking, drinking alcohol. Wearing modest clothing. Attending church regularly, paying full tithe.
