Hi I'm Katie

I am a stay-at-home mom of four great kids-- three girls and one boy. I have a bachelor's degree in Dietetics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have two brothers and two sisters. My parents divorced when I was 6, so I grew up in a single-parent household. While I was attending college, I met my future husband. Almost 12 years later, I am busy with a full life. I have four children, ranging in age from 9 to 10 months. I am finding that keeping up with the children and their activities, as well as a husband and home, keep me very busy! In those rare quiet moments, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, making cards and cooking. My family brings me my greatest joys!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and so it might seem that my membership in the church is tradition or habit. But really, it is so much more than that. I learned from my parents about the church, but as a teenager and young adult, I found that I needed to know for myself who God was and what He wanted for me. As I have prayed earnestly, the Lord has answered my prayers and comforted me through my greatest trials. I have had many small experiences that have led me to know that God lives and He loves me. He knows my name. I am invaluable to Him. Me, someone that is not extraordinary in any way the world recognizes. But to Him, I am. As I grow older, I find that my testimony grows continuously. I have read about the life of our Savior and know He died for me. I am so grateful for His love and sacrifice!

How I live my faith

I find that my faith in Jesus Christ permeates all areas of my life. I live in a neighborhood and enjoy helping those struggling, by bringing in a meal after a birth or death, watching a neighbor's children for the afternoon, or just visiting with someone who needs a boost. I also try to stay involved with my children's schools, especially volunteering at my son's preschool. I also help with the children's organization at church. I am responsible for organizing the classes and activities as well as teaching the children under age 12. I also visit with several women in our congregation to fellowship as well as help them every month.
