Hi I'm Nicholaus

I'm from Nor Cal, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As far as my life is concerned right now, I am first and foremost, a husband. And in a few short weeks, I'll be a father too. I love my wife more than anything and I can't wait to meet our baby girl. As far as the rest of my life goes, I'm currently a Masters student, studying the field of Marriage and Family Therapy. As a part of my schooling, I get to work for several different clinics where I works with kids, teens, and families who want to improve their relationships. I love my job. It allows me to be a listening ear and guide for people that are having a rough go at life. It's the kind of job I know God would have me do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be one. I am a Mormon because I know that by following and adhering to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it's been taught to me, I've become a man worth being. I look in the mirror and trust the person I see. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I life my faith by teaching others where my wife and I attend church. Every other Sunday or so, I'm asking to prepare a lesson about some aspect of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I prepare these lessons, I consult the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and other sources to gain knowledge and insights to better help me explain the topics I'm asked to teach. Most importantly, when I teach, I try to bring everything into perspective by talking about how things like faith, or hope, or charity, as Jesus Christ and the prophets taught them, become applicable in everyday life.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Nicholaus
In John 17, it says: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." Coming to know God is the way we come to know ourselves, the way we experience real life; in this case -eternal life. The best way to come to know God is to talk to Him, to believe that He listens and to speak as if one expects Him to speak back. I've found that when I've done this I find out more and more about myself, and subsequently, more about God. I've never heard his audible voice, but I've seen the way He has led me in my life, and the ways he led the lives of those we read about in books like the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
