Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a Mechanical Engineer. I love Ultimate Frisbee. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently working as a mechanical engineer in Tooele, Utah, though I've lived in Massachusetts, Georgia, and Washington. The greatest blessing in my life is the wonderful woman whom I married. I've always enjoyed learning about history. I love to travel. I'm extremely curious about just about everything. I enjoy playing sports, but I'm not really that good at all of them. I'm pretty good at Ultimate Frisbee though.

Why I am a Mormon

For me, it's pretty simple. I'm happy! As a Mormon I've found joy and peace. The lifestyle that my religion helps me live brings more fulfillment than anything else I've ever seen. I'm surrounded by good friendly people that are willing to help out and support me when I need it. Because I'm a Mormon, I know what my purpose is. I have a reason for being here. Most importantly, I know I have a Savior, who makes up for the constant mistakes I make and lets me know that in the end, through him, everything will turn out all right.

How I live my faith

First of all I try to live my life as a disciple of Jesus Christ should live. I'm not even close to being perfect at it. I never will be either, but I do the best I can. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I've gotten to know a lot of really good people. The Church provides a great opportunity for me to serve other people, to help respond to their problems, and try to encourage unity and friendship among everybody. I love it.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Spencer
Taking some time to read from the scriptures has always helped me gain faith in Jesus Christ. I'm especially a big fan of Isaiah and Paul in the Bible and Nephi in the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Spencer
Grace is essential to everything! In the Bible, the apostle Paul possibly one of my favorite people in scripture teaches that "by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves." In the same way, the prophet Nephi another one of my favorite people in scripture taught in the Book of Mormon that "it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do." Show more Show less
