Hi I'm Cynthia

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 9 children. My husband and I have yours, mine and ours! I love to crochet and cook. My grandmother loved crocheting as well. I have made each of our children a special quilt for their beds for the month of December to help them remember that it is Jesus Christ's birthday that we celebrate on Christmas. And we do love Christmas! But we do need to remember who's birthday we are really celebrating and then it helps to keep the season into perspective!

Why I am a Mormon

My great grandparents came across the plains by handcart to get to the Salt Lake Valley because their religious freedom meant that much to them. In high school teen-agers can take a class called Seminary. It is released time from the regular classes of the normal day. We discuss and talk about the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants. My religion teacher said that we should pray and ask God if the young 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith really saw the Savior and our Heavenly Father. And that God would answer our prayer. He would let us each know for ourselves the truth. So that night I went home and knelt by my bedside and prayed to know if this was true. Then I began to read Joseph Smith's testimony of that first vision and it was as if his voice were reading it to me. A quiet voice, not yelling or very loud, just a quiet peaceful voice. The words just flowed off of the page. I felt and knew in my heart that it was all true. Joseph Smith did have a vision of God the Father and of the Son Jesus Christ. He saw an angel and translated the Book of Mormon. It is true. I know it and I know that God knows that I know it as well. The Book of Mormon is the most correct book upon the face of the Earth and will bring true happiness into your life.

How I live my faith

I go to the temple often. There are over 130 temples around the world now. The temple is a sacred place where families can be united and sealed together for eternity. My grandparents have all passed away now and I miss them dearly. But I know we will be together eternally as I keep living righteously one day at a time just as they did. Families can be together forever through our Heavenly Fathers plan. That gives me great comfort.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes Mormons are Christians! That is for sure:) Our nick name is Mormon, but the true name of our religion is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". Our church's name has the Savior's name in it, that is because it is His Church. If it were called by any other name then it would be someone else's church. We Believe in Christ, we preach of Christ, we testify of Christ! He is our Savior and Redeemer:) Show more Show less
