Hi I'm John

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

About Me

I am a convert as a result of Donny Osmond. I know that's crazy to believe. I'm actually not a fan but my sister was in the 1970's when they were popular. My sister joined the church first. Then later my Mom, two brothers and me. I like to tell people that I'm a member because of Donny Osmond. It shows that the gospel can come from any direction.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a baby I was baptized in the Roman Catholic church. I was born and raised in New York. I am second generation Italian-American. And now I am also Mormon. I was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because its so complete in its teachings. No matter what you've learned about faith and religion, you can bring it with you to the Mormon faith and add to it.

How I live my faith

Im active in my local congregation and think a lot about how I can be a better disciple of Christ. So many people look for new age ways to find peace, and emulate ancient societies to bring peace the their lives. The best way for me to find peace is to emulate the Savior and follow his wisdom.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, I view myself as a Christian. What would Christ do in the situations I find myself. Sometimes I think I get it right, like helping the elderly in my town and neighborhood. And sometimes I get it wrong, like when I get angry at a fellow drivers. If we are accused of helping our fellow Mormons its because we're highly organized to bring relief to the suffering, and because we know each other so well from our Sunday associations, its easy to step up and help. But as I get to know all my neighbors, I offer to help where I can. Show more Show less
