Hi I'm Sara Rose

I love hiking and the outdoors. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been so blessed to grow up in a beautiful place surrounded by mountains. The community I live in is full of individuals committed to working together to live in harmony. I am attending college right now and I love learning! Right now, I am enjoying the time I have in college to learn as much as I can about everything. I especially love learning about other people and cultures because once you get down to it, everyone is the same. Everyone wants a friend and approval. Everyone wants to find their place in life, and feel loved. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ provide the love we all need, and the purpose we all search for in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up learning about Jesus Christ and the Church. But my true conversion came over time, step by step. I didn't have a single powerful experience where I knew this gospel was true. I learned through small things daily from my parents, friends, and leaders. When I read the Book of Mormon, I know that it is true. I know it without a doubt. How could it not be true? The principles within it testify of Jesus Christ and teach true principles. I know that Joseph Smith, even at such a young age, even though he was insignificant to the world, found a quiet place and prayed with all of his heart. He saw Heavenly Father and our Savior and felt their love for him. I know that he restored the Gospel that the Savior instituted while he was on the earth. I know that my Heavenly Father and my Savior love me. I know that through the Atonement, all pain, sorrow, and temptation can be overcome. I know that because of the Atonement, we can be redeemed and live with our families forever. I know that the priesthood, the power of God, has been restored upon the earth. I know that through the priesthood, we can feel God's love and see His love in our lives.

How I live my faith

I hope that my actions in life reflect my beliefs. I do my best to live like the Savior: with Charity. I believe that loving others, despite what they wear, where they work, what they eat, how they speak, and what they listen to is the most important thing we can do in this life. The Savior loved while he lived and I should do the same. I don't want anyone to feel left out. While it can be difficult to reach out and lift others, I know that as long as I stay close to the Savior, He will help me develop perfect love for everyone that I come in contact with. Because I know that the Savior loves me and everyone living on this earth, I shared this precious knowledge as a missionary in the Ecuador Guayquil South Mission. This experience taught me that even as we face trials, we can see the hand of God in our lives. As we turn to Him, our trials can be experiences for our good and we can learn to become more like Christ.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Sara Rose
We admire, love, appreciate, and respect what Joseph Smith did: he restored the church that the Savior instituted while he was on the earth. We worship Jesus Christ, and that is why his name is prominent in the name of our religion. While we do not worship Joseph Smith, we know that he was a prophet of God and received inspiration from him to establish the Gospel on the earth. Show more Show less
