I got back from my mission in Jamaica a while ago now. Now I am preparing to be a teacher, and I am Mormon.

About Me

In the Summer of 2010, I returned from my mission. I have been trying to make the tough decisions of a young adult, but I love art, writing, learning, and teaching. My goal is to be a teacher. Thank you for your time in reading the words of my profile. I am an avid writer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but that does not mean I was brain washed. I have a knowledge of the truthfulness of the Restoration of the fullness of the Gospel because I live it. I have this knowledge because it is a gift of God from my family. It comes by the Holy Ghost, the comforter. We all learn by the Holy Ghost, and we can feeling. All of us need the gift of the Holy Ghost to feel the comfort that only comes from God. This is how I know all of this is completely true. I feel the Holy Ghost confirming the truthfulness of what I am doing. Although this gift is given at baptism, nonmembers can feel the comfort of the Holy Ghost occasionally when we read the word of God. As God restored his Gospel through Joseph Smith, he revealed a lost record of a remnant of the house of Israel, named of the abridger himself, the Book of Mormon. This book is the keystone of our religion, a book that kindles faith, a substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This book is completely true. "I would exhort you that would ask God thee Eternal Father in the name of Christ if these things are true, if ye ask with a sincere heart, real intent, and faith in Christ, he will manifest it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost" are the paraphrased words of the son of Mormon as his writes the final chapter of the book. I have done this for myself and you need to do it for yourself. The peace and happiness of God's one true faith cannot be found any other way. The only way is through the gospel of Jesus Christ, the way to access the atonement of only begotten of the Father.

How I live my faith

Returning from my mission I have had many opportunities to serve. When I serve in the community or in addressing a congregation, my purpose is to inspire them to be more united in the gospel of Jesus Christ. One thing I realized as I studied the talk 'Beware of Pride' by Ezra Taft Benson, a past prophet of the church, is that 'pride divides and humility bring unity'. This may seem obvious, but it is profound to me. I analyze my actions, if they are dividing me from my family or bring more harmony in the home. It is a principle of unity in the which you actual do what your parents say for you to do. I learned from a scripture that says,"whosoever compel thee to go a mile go with him twain." This takes humility, and it shows love. I have seen many blessing from this especially it obeying the words of my parents. A past Mother's day gift or a gift that should be given today or perhaps you already have in days of the past it is a gift of peace and harmony in the home. One story that can show that peace and happiness that comes from doing the will of your parents is of my mother. She wanted a pot garden, but no one had the time for her to plant her flowers and of course she can't do it herself. Sadly the plants I planted for her before my mission all died, but when I return I was able to plant many flowers for her. What is better a few flowers given on mother's day or a garden of a more eternal effect of peace and happiness? The time we have with our parents is so short. I am nearly concluding my stay with mine. Lets seek to be more united in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the only way to true happiness. The fruits of little acts of unity with the will of your parents will have eternal blessings.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

When speaking of the truth of Eternal life it is important to not limit the glorious life that God abides in by our very limited imaginations. Eternal Life is God’s life. God desires us to life with him in his life. Please to not limit yourselves. The life that God lives is way beyond our comprehension, and we should not limit him from his love and mercy by our stubbornness. God does not want to be above us. He want to lift us up to his state and life. Can you imagine and desire to abide and live in the presence of the most loving people? It is according to our desires. If we do not prepare now according the expectations of the true faith, we do not show that we desire to live in his presence. God does not allow filthy souls to abide in his presence. The idea to some people of feeling clean from sin is impossible, for they limit God and themselves. Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of the Father, has suffered for all sin insomuch that he has satisfied the demands of justice. Jesus’ will is the same as God the Fathers. If we cultivate a relationship with God by our obedience, Jesus can be our advocate to the Father of Justice that we may live by the mercy and grace of God. Eternal life entails an eternal family. We need to raise our families with the greatest desires. This is the work of the Gospel. People don't often think of how do we know that my family will continue on for the eternities. What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

The concept of death and the results thereafter are often controversial. One of the main parts that has to be learned is that there is two parts of a soul a body and a spirit. The knowledge of what happened in the beginning would help understand what will happen after we die, for the course of the Lord is an eternal round. In the beginning before the world was created, we lived with God, the Father of our spirits. We could not enjoy life as we do now without our physical bodies. God enjoys life because he has a physical body like how Jesus Christ was resurrected to be immortal. Our Heavenly Father lives eternal life. He desires us to enjoy life as he does, so he provided a plan. The plan revolves around Jesus Christ, for he is the only perfect son, who accomplished the will of the Father, providing the perfect sacrifice that satisfies the all the demands of Justice for the truly penitent. Before we can receive eternal life, the most glorious life, our spirits are taken to a world of spirits, when we die. There until we resurrected we are restored happiness and peace for a righteous life, and a miserable state awaits the wicked, for wickedness can never bring happiness. We can still suffer for our sin and receive Christ here in the spirit world to prepare for the resurrection and judgment. Three kingdoms are prepared in heaven. What is the First Vision?

Joseph Smith took religion seriously at a very young age, worrying about his salvation as well as his family and everyone else I would imagine, but in his study of the churches he could not find his answer however, in his study one scripture in the bible impressed him immensely namely James 15. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of god, which giveth to all men liberally meaning freely and upbraideth means he will condemn not and it shall be given him.” This experience led him to a grove which that we call the Sacred Grove, where he knelt to communicate to his Heavenly Father and ask what church he should join. He record "I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun which descended gradually until it fell upon me...When the light rested upon me I saw two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake to me calling me by name and said, pointing to the other- This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" Joseph asked God his question what church he should join. ‘They are all wrong... all their creeds were an abomination in his sight that those professors were all corrupt that “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” I know that this is true for myself. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Here I will explain the third mission of the church, for I could not fit it in before in a following answer. Redeeming the dead is widely unknown to most people outside of the church, but it pertains the work of the Temple. The past couple weeks I have been grateful for the chance I have seized to go the temple once each week. I will attempt to explain it simply. Each soul needs an opportunity to receive the restored gospel, and there is not many people that has had a fair chance to receive it. Another misunderstanding that may need some humbling of oneself to receive this doctrine is the knowledge concerning death. People read the scriptures and read that the soul sleeps when it dead. They may interpret it as spirit can do absolutely nothing without mortality however, there is another phrase in the scriptures one should ponder. Is the fact that a soul gives up the ghost. Where does the spirit go? In the world, where these spirits go, there is an immensely work for the deceased faithful elders that they may continue the delight of preaching the gospel. These spirits cannot be baptized without ones body, so the work of the temple is most times vicarious or "taking the place of another person... acting or serving as a substitute” according to dictionary.com. That is why we seek to know our genealogy, ensuring our family are given a fair opportunity to accept the covenants of the gospel, for temple work does not guarantee salvation. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

I am a missionary, but I finished my full-time missionary service on April 15, 2010. The missionaries have a manual that has five basic lesson, but we are commanded to teach by the Spirit of God. The spirit leads us to teach according to the word that is necessary in ones life. Full time missionaries have been set apart from the world to be a representative of Jesus Christ. As representatives of Jesus Christ, we help those that we visit understand all these questions of the soul. Perhaps you have a question like Joseph Smith. What is the true church? That was the first instruction of this last dispensation. You may ask life’s questions as followed Where did I come from? How was I formed? Why was I born? Why do I desire to have a family that will exist forever? What happens when I die? What is Heaven like? Is the there a kingdom of God? Who goes there? What if I am not completely obedience to god? How can I have my guilt of mistakes eased? Can my sin forgiven? Is there such thing as sin? How did Jesus Christ save us? Can I trust the word of God? What do I need to do to be saved? What am I to hope for? How can I have that hope? What is faith and repentance? God has all knowledge and he has revealed much knowledge. We "invite others to come unto Christ by helping them to receive the restored gospel of Jesus Christ through Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end." What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The atonement of Jesus Christ is the acts of God to prepare the way for our salvation, which is the gift of eternal life and immortality after death, a never ceasing life with our family and God. It may be astonishing that the acts of one person can cause the mercy for forgiveness. We have complete accountability for all our actions unless, we take upon us the name of Christ and this accountability through faith in Christ, repentance, and baptism by immersion and the laying of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ has performed the infinite perfect sacrifice, and his suffering is incomprehensible to a mortal. Jesus is the only begotten of the Father, so his intelligence is the greatest of all, and with this blessing he lived on this earth with infinite capacity even overcoming death however, he lived in all humility submitting himself to the will of the Father, fulfilling all the prophecies of him and the word of the Father. I know that Jesus Christ provides the way for true happiness that we may live forever with a complete family with God the Father. I know that with the gospel we can have a hope for this great blessing in mortality. I feel a hope for my family. Jesus Christ lives today. He has resurrected, taking up his body again never to die.
