Hi I'm Ruth Ann

I grew up in Texas and teach 2nd graders in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a teacher and love learning with my 2nd graders. In my free time, I love to ballroom dance, hike, practice yoga and spend time with my family and friends. Each day I'm amazed at what my 2nd graders teach me. I have a deeper understanding of what Jesus meant when he said to be as a little child. Children and humble and willing to learn. When they make mistakes or are offended, they are quick to forgive. My love of dance was fostered as a little child. I started taking ballet when I was 3. Later when I attended college, I took ballroom dance and even clogging! Being the only girl in a family of 8 boys, I was protected and teased. I love my family and realize how much my parents sacrificed for me to help me go to college, take piano lessons and dance lessons. Now it's my turn to give back.

Why I am a Mormon

For as long as I can remember, I have believed in Jesus Christ and wanted to follow his example. I was born into a home where I was taught the Plan of Salvation as a little girl. When I turned eight, I could hardly wait to be baptized. Since that special day, I have had many experiences which have tested and tried me. However, I have always found great peace in knowing God loves me and because of his son, Jesus Christ I can overcome the two main obstacles of sin and death. I know Jesus died for me and because of this great sacrifice, I will be resurrected. This gift if free. He has made it possible for everyone on this Earth to be resurrected. Secondly, I am not perfect. Jesus Christ has made it possible for me to be clean again through repentance. I am so grateful that as I have faith in Him and seek forgiveness, He is merciful, kind and just. I find great joy and happiness in knowing I can live with God and Jesus Christ again. There is great peace in knowing God hears and answers my prayers each day. With God I can do all things through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is my mediator and my judge. I am in awe at the mercy, grace and love I feel from both my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I want to follow my Savior in all that I do.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the temple and remembering the covenants I have made with God. Currently I have been teaching Sunday School. I love studying the scriptures and looking for ways to make the lesson meaningful for the people who attend my congregation of singles age 31 to 45. I'm also assigned to visit two ladies in our congregation in a program called visiting teaching. I try to meet them once a month at their home with my "companion", another lady in my congregation. I have developed close friendships with these ladies as we have talked about God and our Savior Jesus Christ. These ladies are my dear friends.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

They seek to share the "good news" of Jesus Christ and his gospel with everyone who will listen. God loves all his children and he wants everyone to know of his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
