Hi I'm Bob Freeman

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I retired in 1999 from a career in quality control. My last job was supervising inspection of physical properties of Investment (Loss Wax) Castings. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1970. My interests are varied including Sailing, woodworking, home building, sports (mostly watching now) out door activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 30 years old. My wife and I had been married for 8 years with two young boys, one was 7 and the other was 5. Before we were married I was not religious at all my wife had attended several churches as a teenager, but had not joined any of them. Both my wife and I decided we would like a positive influence on our children outside of our home as the grew older. We attended a nondenominational community church. As we attended this church we were welcomed very warmly. The minister seamed to want everyone to be good people an you could believe what ever you wanted about God or doctrine, just didn't seem right to me. At lunch I noticed that coworker was reading a book every day, I asked him what he was reading, it turned out it was the Book of Mormon. He put us in touch with the missionaries and through several remarkable events we joined the church within 30 days. We have had our struggles as so many families do but are extremely happy we joined the church so many years ago. I know that my Savior lives and loves me and that through his atonement I can be made clean and able to return to be with Him and my family throughout eternity.

How I live my faith

I currently am in the leadership of our ward as Executive Secretary. Mostly involves making appointments for our bishop, creating agendas for our ward leadership meetings and following up on assignments. Members of our church participate in all aspects of leadership. We do not have a paid clergy, all callings (positions including including that of bishop are filled by volunteers who are not paid and provide for their own support. It is such a comforting feeling to know that I have a God who knows me and I can pray to for all my needs. I also know that His Son, Jesus Christ died for my sins and through my repentance will forgive all my sins allowing me to be able to return to be with them again.
