Hi I'm Dennis

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 63 years old. My wife and I have been married for 40 years. We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Two of our children are adopted. One of our children is handicapped. I am employed as a Database Administrator. My hobbies are genealogy, gardening, and music. I love spending time with my grandchildren. I have had cancer twice now which has helped me appreciate all of the good things in life.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were also Mormon's so I have always participated in the Church. However, at a young age I loved to read so by the time I was 13 I had already read the Book of Mormon. I remember the spiritual feelings I felt as I read the Book of Mormon. Also, as I grew up I had many spiritual experiences on my own which helped me to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. As I have read, studied and prayed, Heavenly Father has confirmed to me through the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon is a true book of Scripture from Heavenly Father that complements the Bible, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days is the true Church of God, and that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in serving in the Church since I was young. I had an opportunity to fill a full time mission for the LDS Church. Since that time I have had many opportunities to serve in many different callings in the Church. I have spent many years involved in scouting. I love going to the temple and love doing family history research.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Dennis
At a young age, I was blessed to have parents who taught me about Jesus Christ and His Church. I remember my mother at a very young age kneeling by my bed before I went to sleep teaching me how to pray. Prayer has been an important part of my life. I have found that as I sincerely pray daily the Lord in turn answers my prayers. Prayer is one of the keys towards developing faith. As I have learned about the principles of the gospel I have found as I live them, pray about them, and receive confirmation from the Holy Ghost that was I am doing is correct my faith has also increased. I also have found that as I have faced challenges in life and have had the opportunity to exercise my faith by following the promptings that I have received through the spirit of the Holy Ghost, my faith has grown immensely and the Heavenly Father has strengthened me as I have exercised my faith in Him.
