Hi I'm Daniel Grigg

I grew up in Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming. I'm a hospital CEO. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a son, a brother, a husband, a father and a grandpa. My family and my faith are the most important things to me in the whole world. I love sports. I'm a big fan of the San Francisco Giants and the BYU Cougars. I spent two years in Spain as a missionary and love the spanish people and their country. I've lived all over the western United States and have made some wonderful friends along the way. Professionally I am a health care executive. I'm passionate about creating great health care organizations that provide world class health care.

Why I am a Mormon

At one point during the mortal ministry of Jesus Christ, some of his disciples were offended by him and chose to stop following him. Jesus then turned to the twelve apostles and asked, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the awords of eternal life. That is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This church has the words of eternal life and is the true church of Jesus Christ here upon the earth. There is no where else to go. God is real. He is our Father and he loves us. Each of is entitled to receive personal revelation from Him. It is from Him directly, through personal revelation that I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. With the death of his ancient apostles, the church that Jesus established while here upon the earth eventually became lost. Many centuries later, Jesus restored His church upon the earth again through the prophet Joseph Smith. He called prophets and apostles, gave them his authority (the Priesthood) and established all of the principles and ordinances necessary to bring us back into his presence. The Holy Bible contains the writings of prophets in ancient Israel. The Book of Mormon contains the writings of prophets in ancient America. Both are true and inspired of God. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that God once again reveals His truth to modern prophets and that the authority to carry out saving ordinances such as baptism and eternal marriage are available to each of us. That is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This church has the words of eternal life and is the true church of Jesus Christ here upon the earth. There is no where else to go.

How I live my faith

I am happiest when I am serving others. Throughout my life I have had many opportunities to serve. Serving as a missionary in Spain taught me how to truly love people. When you are giving 100% of your time every day to help others that love grows and deepens. Upon returning to the United States I was privileged to spend the next four years teaching and training new missionaries while doing my undergraduate studies. While in graduate school I met and married a beautiful young lady who has been my wife for 24 years. Subsequently we have had 7 children, which has taught me a new level of love and service. Being a parent is a lot like being on a full-time mission that never ends. There is nothing that brings more joy than giving all you have to a family that is completely dependent upon you emotionally, physically and spiritually. Their joys are your joys, their heartaches are your heartaches and and their successes are your successes. As my children have gotten older it has been fascinating to watch the relationship evolve from complete dependance to interdependence to independence. We recently had our first grandson, which has brought a new dimension to our family relationship and enriched our lives even more. I love my family. I have served as the Bishop of an LDS congregation in California, as a church and Boy Scout leader for young men in several different congregations, and as a teacher of adults and youth. The relationships and bonds of friendship that are formed have endured to this day. I have been at my happiest when I have given of my time, energy and love in the service of others. I am also active in the service of my community. I am on the board of our local Chamber of Commerce and on the board of our local economic development council. I have served on a board committee for the American Red Cross and supported political initiatives. Whether in my family, church or community, I have been richly blessed by giving service.
