Hi I'm Ed

I grew up in Kansas. I work with computers. I am married with several children. And I love to read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy camping and hiking together. We also like to play games as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I can trace my family line through ancestors that crossed the plains in handcarts, my conversion was a very personal one. As I was reading the Book of Mormon, I was intrigued by the story of the father of King Lamoni. Aaron and his brethren had come to teach him at his request about the gospel. After hearing the testimony of Aaron and his brethren, the king desired to know: "What shall I do that I may have this eternal life of which thou hast spoken? Yea, what shall I do that I may be born of God, having this wicked spirit rooted out of my breast, and receive his Spirit, that I may be filled with joy, that I may not be cast off at the last day? Behold, said he, I will give up dall that I possess, yea, I will forsake my kingdom, that I may receive this great joy." Here is this powerful king who had such a strong witness of the truth which Aaron taught, he was willing to give up everything to know the gospel was true. I then decided, if this king was willing to give up everything he had to know God, I could at least kneel and ask God for myself if the Book of Mormon was true. As I knelt in prayer, I had a peaceful sweet feeling surround me. I knew that indeed the Book of Mormon was true as witnessed by the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by regularly attending church. Currently I assist with the Scouting program in our congregation. This is the second year in a row that our young men have attended Scout camp. They are progressing well and earned many merit badges at camp. I was excited to hear them discuss plans for next year's summer camp. I strive to read my scriptures daily and keep a prayer in my heart. I also perform ordinances for the dead that they too might accept Jesus Christ and have an opportunity to be saved.
