Hi I'm Nathan Alan

I'm a musician, a programmer, and enjoying life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, my name is Nathan Lambson, and I am a 3rd year college student, and an aspiring Computer Scientist, basically a computer programmer. I absolutely LOVE music, particularly playing the piano. In case you are music buff I am learning Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2 By Franz Liszt, and an etude by Scriabin (my teachers pick.) I listen to the BEST classical music, and frequently find my self listening to movie soundtracks at work, How to train a dragon has an upbeat score, in case you are looking for new music. My sport was Tennis all through high school, but ever since I served as a missionary in Argentina I have developed a love for soccer. Argentines are fanatical about soccer, and I am always on the edge of my seat when I watch Argentina play. Among other things, I love hiking, biking, swimming, snow boarding, dancing, and road trips.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the doctrine, I love the hope, the reassurance, and most of all because after careful study and prayer, and sometimes after being humbled by my own negligence, I am always reminded through both ordinary and miraculous ways that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that this is His church. I am a Mormon because my heart and my mind tell me that this is correct and good, and that if I can be faithful and diligent in obeying the commandments as revealed through the Lords' prophets, both ancient and modern, I will one day return to my Heavenly Father knowing that I was valiant in my testimony of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live in such a way that I can fill my church responsibilities first. I'm the secretary for the leaders of the mens organization. I make sure that there are assigned people for the sacrament, and that the sacrament is prepared before church starts. I also keep track of attendance, set up interviews, and hand out announcements. What has helped me the most though to really live my faith is to read the scriptures every day, and to try and think about them throughout the day, and to keep a prayer in my heart. I am also a worker in the Provo, UT temple close to where I live and that always helps me see things more clearly and look at the big picture instead of being absorbed in the trivial things which are always demanding my attention. My goal is to develop a personal relationship with God so that I can personally know His will for my life by studying the scriptures, praying, fasting, and most of all obeying His commandments. When I do what the Lord asks he gives me a greater capacity to listen and obey, and this is how I personally strive to "Come unto Christ." Oh, and I just started singing at "old folks" homes and hospitals. :) They are the BEST audience ever!

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Nathan Alan
The Bible is absolutely the word of God. It was by reading the Bible (James 1:5) that Joseph Smith knew he had to "ask of God." The bible is a miraculous gift given to man which has inspired millions upon millions of people to believe in Christ. The Holy Bible is part of the LDS canon along with the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants (modern revelations), and the Pearl of Great Price. Show more Show less
