Hi I'm Teri

I'm a wife, mother, grandmother and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the church just before my 16th birthday. I am so thankful that I have the gospel in my life. I feel that the gospel and it's teaching have helped me to have a more Christ centered life. It helped me when I was looking for a husband. It helped me to teach my children about Christ. It helps me be a good mother, grandmother and wife.

Why I am a Mormon

My childhood wasn't what I wanted for myself and I knew that I wanted more stable and loving enviroment in which to raise my own children. The church taught me that the life I wanted for myself and my family is possible. By living by the teachings of Jesus Christ I can find true happiness. When I heard about the church I, all I could think about were all of the rumors that I had heard. But through the lessons given by the missionaries, I learned so much more. The Spirit touched my heart and I knew thata what they said to me was true. I am so thankful for the course that the gospel has set me on in my life. I am so thankful for the Savior's influence in the life of my wonderful husband and each of our children..

How I live my faith

The church has given me ways to grow personally that I never though possible. As a child and teenager I was shy and very self conscience. As a member of the church I have been given the opportunity to teach lessons to children, teenagers and even adults. I never thought it was possible that I could stand in front of adults and feel confident and not cry! But I can and I do and I love it!! Teaching the gospel, no matter the age is wonderful. It gives me a chance to grow and learn more about what I am teaching. I love the scriptures. I love teaching from them. I enjoy my time serving the Lord. We are His hands on this earth. He needs each of us to do our part to make a difference in the lives around us. I am involved with the largest woman's organization in the world. It is called the Relief Society. We meet each Sunday morning and then again during the month to learn together how to become stronger women. Stronger in our knowledge in the scriptures. Stronger as mothere, teachers, and women. To be better prepared for the uncertain future that we live in.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Teri
No. The church tells us to get as much information as we can on the canidates and make our own decisions based on that information Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Teri
The church is the same around the world. We believe the same. We worship the same. And we are organized the same. A ward is your local meeting house. A ward has a bishop. The local members meet regularly. A stake is made up of several wards~"local meeting houses". A conference is held 2 times a year for all the local wards to gain instruction. Show more Show less
