Hi I'm Steve

I'm a husband, a father, a law student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in law school with the hope of soon becoming a patent attorney. My wife and I had our first child, a boy, during my first semester. He went through open heart-surgery just 5 days after his birth, but he is now healthy, happy, and so much fun to have in our home. We are grateful for the capabilities of modern medicine and for those who dedicate their lives to learning it and using it to help others. I studied mechanical engineering as an undergrad because I love to learn how things work and I love problem-solving. In the spare time that I have I love playing all kinds of sports whether it be racquetball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, football, softball, or any other you can imagine. However, my favorite thing is just being together with my wife and my son.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that living the gospel and obeying the commandments brings happiness. It has brought both me and my family a lot of joy. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I can show my love and gratitude for him by living the gospel, which is what it truly means to be a Mormon.  I gained a knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel from a young age. I had a strong desire to read the Book of Mormon and finished it before I was baptized at 8 years old. I have read it many times since then and from it have learned about Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has confirmed the truth of the Book of Mormon to me. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God just as the Bible is. As a Mormon I am able to learn so much about God, about Jesus Christ and His Atonement for us, and about God's plan for us. It brings me peace in my life when times are hard and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Most importantly, I live my faith within my own family. My wife and I pray every morning and night to express gratitude for what God has done for us as well as ask Him to bless and guide our family. We also read the Book of Mormon together each day. On a personal level, I pray and study the scriptures to grow closer to the Lord and learn more about Him and His will for me. I also attend church each week to renew my devotion to the Lord. In these ways I try to love and serve God. I also strive to love others as the Savior taught us. I show my love for others through small acts of service.
