Hi I'm Bryan Nolan Mecham

I am a Husband, Father, Grandfather, a CPA, a Senior International Tax Director, a Candy Maker, Silver Beaver, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my sweetheart of 32 years. I have 5 children, two sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law and 6 precious granddaughters with one more on the way. I am employed as a senior international tax director by a U.S. multi-national company. I enjoy traveling and have been to many countries. I love people and the various cultures that I have encountered on my business trips, misson or vacation. I served a 2 year mission to the Belgium, Brusselles Mission. It was an amazing 2 years and I still am in contact with friends that I made while serving. Even though it has been 32 years since I served as a missionary, the feelings, memories and my love for the Belgium and French people are still very strong today. I love to white water raft, golf, play basketball and racquetball. I love scouting and have been an adult leader for Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years - 9 years as a scoutmaster. I love working with the youth of the church and community and feel it a great privilege to know that I am training the future leaders. I love to garden and teach people how to rappel off cliffs. I have a desire to serve others and to lighten the burdens of those who have encountered hardships. I love spending time with family and always look forward to our family reunions. The temples of the LDS church are my safe haven. I can go there and provide service and receive personal revelation that directs my life. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I developed a strong love for the gospel and especially Joseph Smith at an early age. I had the opportunity to visit Nauvoo to learn more about Joseph Smith's story. I wanted to know if it was true. I followed the advice of my leaders and parents. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know of it's truthfulness. I received my answer. I am thankful for the atonement of Jesus Christ. He has given us the opportunity to repent and to come unto Him. I know more now than ever before that the answer I received at an early age is still true today. My life has been richly blessed as I have worked to be fully compliant with the commandments and teachings of Jesus Christ. I am Mormon because I have received the blessings fromTemples, Priesthood Lineage, the Godhead, Non Paid Clergy, the Word of Wisdom, the law of tithes and offerings, the constant reminder to stay morally clean both in mind and body, families can be together forever, service, the Book of Mormon, personal revelation, Prophets and Apostles who speak today. These are just a few significant teachings and principles that are precious to me. I have come to know and understand these few things by doing them and receiving the blessings attached to them. There is no place I would rather be than with my family in the temple. There is no greater joy than to know that I am living my life in such a way that I can enter God's temple. It is worth the effort. I am not perfect but am trying every day to be better.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a deacons quorum adviser and activity day leader. I attend my meetings regularly. I enjoy listening to General Conference. There is no greater joy than to listen to men and women of God teach us the ways in which we can demonstrate our faith in and love to our Savior, Jesus Christ. I love organizing events and sharing my talents. One of my favorite things to do is to make hand made ropes for the youth of the church. I am a faithful home teacher and currently visit 2 families each month and watch over them to ensure that things are going okay in their lives. We invite friends and families into our home for dinner, games and activities. We enjoy organizing big parties to bring people together. I strive to serve faithfully in my callings in the church. I strive to be a good example at work. I refrain from using bad language in my daily interaction with people. I try to do something nice for someone everyday. I have been reading my scriptures daily since September 15, 2008. This has given me great knowledge and a deep appreciation for the power of the scriptures. It has changed my life for the better. I enjoy participating in the various programs that the LDS church has established. I enjoy assisting in building temples, helping people gain an education, providing relief to those impacted by natural disasters, helping those impacted by loss of jobs, etc., providing resources for people to attend the temple, and spreading the Book of Mormon.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Bryan Nolan Mecham
Thomas S. Monson. He is assisted by 2 counselors (Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uctdorf) and 12 apostles. He is also assisted by general authorities and presidencies of various organizations throughout the church. Thomas S. Monson is a man of God. I invite you to study his life and teachings. You will find one of the most loving and caring men that has ever walked the earth. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Bryan Nolan Mecham
I know this to be true. In Matthew, Chapter 7 of the new testament, there is a verse that admonishes us to beware of false prophets in the last days. I agree we need to beware of false prophets but this verse gives me the understanding that there will also be true prophets that walk the earth in the last days. It futher states that by their fruit ye shall know them. I love the fruit that has been demonstrated from each of the modern day prophets of the LDS church. I have a firm testimony of Joseph Smith and know that what he saw and taught are true. I also know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet today. I love him and have been taught by him in several settings throughout my life. He is a man of faith and knows how to follow the spirit. I hope that I will be able to gain that same ability to listen to the spirit and act on the promptings. Show more Show less
