Hi I'm Travis

I ski, mountain bike, and eat fine chocolate. I travel with the family and wrestle with my kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of six and a husband of a very patient wife! I love to ski, mountain bike, "read" audiobooks, play European board games, and eat fine chocolates. I got a BA in theatre and an MBA at BYU. For work, I build products and processes that help small businesses.

Why I am a Mormon

You know, life is pretty tough. We get crazy stuff thrown at us all the time--some of which we don't really feel ready for. When that happens, I'm really grateful for the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and for living prophets. There are answers in the gospel and there's inspired direction from the living prophets. Most of all, I'm grateful for God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. They are doing everything in their power to bless and assist me. They want me to be happy, to be like them and enjoy what they have.

How I live my faith

I'm a Bishop for about 600 people in my area. I serve alongside a lot of really amazing people! They truly love their neighbors and work really hard to follow Jesus Christ and His teachings. It's inspiring to serve with them.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Travis
The Atonement of Jesus Christ in truly infinite. It is infinite in power and reach. Jesus Christ can bless and heal every living soul. Because of his sacrifice, referred to as the Atonement, He will resurrect all living souls. He can forgive and cleanse us from the effects of sin. He can also provide us help or assistance in any worthwhile need--increased strength, wisdom, kindness, memory, health, forgiveness, charity, mercy and so much more. When we lack, He stands ready to assist. But the power of His Atonement does not stop there. Jesus can also perfect and exalt us. As C.S. Lewis explained, “God is not merely mending, not simply restoring a status quo”. His power does not stop at cleansing and helping. Jesus Christ suffered all so that He could give us all. He descended below all to rise above all AND to carry us with Him. We can become like Him, through Him. Show more Show less
