Hi I'm Gary Baker

I grew up on a farm. I served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam Era. Married - 6 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing tennis and running. I have ran 3 marathons and one 1/2 marathon. I am married with 6 children and 16 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I purchased my first Book of Mormon when I was about 12 years old while on a Boy Scout outing. We were touring the church history events at the Carthage, IL (USA) jail where Joseph Smith, Jr. was martyred. That book set on my book shelf until I was 20. I had a spirit prompting me about the book to read it for all those years. While serving in the Air Force I made friends with Mormons living in Las Vegas, NV. This sparked my interest even more to read the Book of Mormon. I did. I met with the missionaries and they taught me about the Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was done in the home of an Air Force Sgt. that I worked with. The missionaries challenged me to pray about the Book of Mormon. I did. I received an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, hand in hand with the Bible. Because of that answer I know Joseph Smith, Jr was a Prophet of God and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church and restored in its fullness in the latter days. I am very gratful for the love of Heavenly Father that blessed me with the knowledge of His Gospel. I invite everyone reading this to read the Book of Mormon, pray about it, and know for yourself, as I have done. My life is blessed every day beyond measure because of my conversion and baptism. Let me know what I can do to help you.

How I live my faith

I am the Crystal Lake 1st Ward Clerk.
