Hi I'm Jonny.

I am ABC. I am a Biology Teacher. I am a life-long learner. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My parents are from Taiwan, but I was born in America and have lived here all of my life. I am what they say, "ABC," American-born Chinese. I'm currently a college student, studying to be a high school Biology teacher. I play piano as a way to unwind. I love learning about different cultures. I love eating different foods from all over the world. I'm not a good cook, but one day I will be! Life has been very good to me, and I attribute that to my faith in Jesus Christ and His teachings.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into a strong, LDS family, I still needed to find out for myself if what I had been taught was what I really wanted to believe. It was easy to listen to what my parents had taught me, but in order for it to become a part of who I am, I needed to know for myself. That's when I prayed. I prayed and studied the Book of Mormon. I also did my best to live according to the teachings of the restored gospel. By doing so, I noticed my life change for the better. I'm more willing to do what I know is right, to be true to who I am. I find myself turning to God for guidance when I face trials, instead of letting my trials rule my life. I try my best to help others do the same.

How I live my faith

I firmly believe that Heavenly Father has placed each one of us where he needs us the most. There are so many people in the world that need help. I know that I am where the Lord wants me to be, in order to help others in need, as well as to be helped by others when I need it most. To me, this is one of the greatest pieces of evidence that God lives and loves us. I try my best to do what he's counting on me to do. This is how I try to live my faith.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jonny.
I have never seen Christ, nor have I heard His voice. I know that sometimes it's hard to believe that He really came. But, that's why we have the scriptures. They are kind of like journal entries of the people who did see Christ, who heard Him speak, and who were taught by Him. As they speak of Christ and teach about Him, they often invite us to "come unto him." We are encouraged by them to receive His gospel, which includes learning about Christ and developing faith in Him. Thus, as we study the scriptures daily, we are able to learn more and more about what kind of a person Christ is. We learn about who He was, what things He did while He was here, and what He wants us to do. Even though I've never seen Christ, I know that He lives. His teachings are what give me the greatest motivation to be the best that I can be. His promises to help us and heal us are real, too. As we accept Him as our Savior, He gives us strength to be better, to love others, to find peace, and to live. I know the He lives. This is what has strengthened my faith in Christ the most.
