Hi I'm Kameron

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying electrical engineering. I spent two years helping people learn of and come unto Christ in the South Pacific island of New Caledonia. Some of my hobbies include model craft rockets, airplanes, and cars. I've been tinkering with electronics since I was very young, and now that I'm studying to become a professional engineer I still enjoy working on small projects in the garage. I taught myself to program and I know many different programming languages from C to javascript and everything in between. I spent time in high school creating and maintaining a website were I coauthored flash cartoons with my buddy. We also had an active community and a forum for all kinds of discussion. I'm very interested in technology and can relate to Kip, from the hit movie Napoleon Dynamite, when he sings, "I love technology!" After reading that last paragraph, you might think I'm super weird and boring. Well, you'd be right about one thing! I'm super weird!! But in a good way. For fun I like to do many different recreational activities. Kayaking in the bay, long boarding, rock climbing, swimming, horseback riding (ok not really, but I wish I did), and just hanging out with the people I love. I also like to laugh, and I firmly believe that happiness comes because of what happens inside of you and not what happens outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I'm following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I try to be like him every day. I know that he guides my life and answers my prayers. I feel close to my Heavenly Father. We are not simply flesh and blood, but within each of us is a living spirit. That is who we are and it is what gives each of us our unique personality. Our Heavenly Father is the father of our spirits. We lived with him before our birth here and we will return to him after we die. As our father, he loves us very much. So much that he is intricately involved in each of our lives. He reaches out to us in many ways, but it is through the Holy Ghost that we can feel in our hearts his love. I know that our Father in Heaven loves all of his children. He would not leave us alone to fend for ourselves in this life. He called a prophet in 1830 to bring back the church that Jesus Christ had established while here, but had since been lost. This prophet's name is Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is a book of holy scripture. It was translated into English by Joseph Smith. This book is a true book. It has helped me to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is his only true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best everyday to be an example of the believers. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I also try to follow the instruction I receive from church leaders who are authorized servants of God here on earth. The best way that I can live my faith, is through service. In every situation I look for ways that I can reach out and bless the lives of those around me. Whether simply opening a door for a stranger or planning and organizing a large service project for a friend, I love to help others! I love the children's song "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus". I know that Jesus Christ came to earth because his father sent him. He showed us the way to live. If we follow him, we will be happy in this life and one day return to him and our Father in Heaven.
