Hi I'm Heidi

About Me

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love my job! I work with a non-profit organization in international conservation. I enjoy working, helping and learning about others. My hobbies and interests include gardening, horses, animal rescue and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives. That His only begotten son in the flesh is Jesus Christ, and that He lives. That our Savior, Jesus Christ was crucified for the sins of this world and was resurrected 3 days later. That through the Atonement, He opened the doors that allow each of us to return home to Him and to our Heavenly Father. That we can repent of our sins and be perfected through Him. All we have to do is repent and take His name upon us through baptism by immersion, even as he did. He worked out the Atonement because of His great love for each of us. We are His children and He wants ALL of us back with Him. I know that it is only through the saving ordinances, which He restored along with His holy priesthood when He restored His gospel in its fullness, that we can be redeemed and live with our families in the eternities, if we but only abide and obey his commandments. I know that our Savior and Heavenly Father appeared in vision to the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1820, and through him Jesus Christ restored His gospel in its fullness. That The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church and He leads it today through His appointed prophets, seers and revelators, and that President Thomas S. Monson is His living appointed prophet today, and through him the Savior gives us His commandments. I know that the Book of Mormon is another witness and testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That this sacred record is true! That the Prophet Joseph Smith did translate this record through the power of the Holy Ghost. I have read this precious book several times and I have followed its counsel. I have asked for myself in sincere prayer, as Moroni has admonished, if it is true; and I have received that special witness for myself that it is true. I testify of the power of prayer. Our Father in Heaven loves us and wants to communicate with his children. He has answered my prayers in undeniably miraculous ways. He is aware of each of our needs and blesses us according to those needs and our individual faith. I testify that the Atonement is real and we can be forgiven and made clean through our Savior and His infinite Atonement. In Matthew, our Lord invites us to cast our burdens at His feet and take His yoke (name) upon us, for His burden is light. I testify that this is true! I have cast my burdens at His feet, and given myself 100% into His hands, trusting him, and He has not failed me. I have felt His love and peace. Though I know at times it is not easy to let go of our burdens (control) 100%, I can promise it works!!! He loves us and will wrap His loving arms around us when we come unto Him and let Him heal us. I know that if we abide and keep His commandments we can be happy and live happier lives. I know that our Savior created this earth and all things living upon this earth. He truly is our Master, Lord and King! I know that it is only through Him that we can work out our own Salvation and become even as He is and as our Heavenly Father. We only have to follow His divine example and come unto Him. He is there to help us through it all, we just need to have faith and to trust Him. I testify and bear witness that all these things are true! I not only believe in Christ, but I believe Him. I am grateful and overwhelmed by His love. He is our elder brother and He is our Savior. In His holy name, I bear this testimony, Amen.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the Church. I currently am a primary teacher where I teach children about the savior and His gospel on Sunday. I also try to provide service to my friends and neighbors when they are in need.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Book of Mormon is another testament of that fact. We believe that the Bible together with the Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, and teaches His gospel. We believe that Jesus Christ being the Son of God is a being of flesh and bones as is God our Eternal Father, that they are 2 separate glorified resurrected beings. And that we lived with both of them in a pre-mortal world before we came to earth, and that we can live with both of them again after this life. We believe that Jesus Christ was born to Mary and that God is His literal father after the manner of the flesh, and that he was sent here to work out the Atonement so we could be redeemed from the fall of Adam. We believe that by being baptized by those with Priesthood Authority in His name can be forgiven and obtain entrance into the Kingdom of God. There is hope for all through repentance and baptism. The authority to perform the ordinance of baptism was restored to the Prophet Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
