Hi I'm Brittany Geiger!

I'm a mother of one, wife, and Speech-Language Pathologist! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am just your average southern born American lady! I wasn't raised in the gospel by devout Mormon parents, but I WAS taught to be an upstanding, honest, and educated woman. My dad taught me early on that education was the key to my happiness and independence...although he was missing a critical piece to that outcome. He is the reason I excelled in academia and pursued my Masters Degree without hesitation. There was no option, he raised me to believe I was destined for greatness! I met my husband when I was 19 years old and knew instantly that he was the man I would marry. He was an inactive Mormon at the time, but soon he found his way back to church and carried me along for the ride. Together, with our sons we live each day grateful that through Heavenly Father we have found one another. Currently, I am serving as a primary teacher to the 8-11 year old Valiant Class and he is teacher in Young Mens. As of August 2010, I have been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for five years. Joining the church was the best decision I've made in my lifetime.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it's the answer! All my life I have been looking for something...Even when I didn't realize something was missing, I was looking. My journey to finding the gospel of Jesus Christ was a bumpy one full of mistakes, sins, and learning. Thankfully, I found my way back to Heavenly Father through these mistakes, twists, and turns. I am Mormon because it completes me. My conversion has strengthened both my weaknesses and my assets, it has given me a source of identification, I have found a family outside of the one I was born into or joined through marriage. I bear you my testimony of the truthfulness of this church. I know without a doubt that it IS the the true church on the face of the earth today. I know that it is led and guided by a true living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he is our brother. I know that he chose to be the redeemer of the world, that he gave his life for ME so that I might be forgiven for the mistakes I have made in my life, and I know that he lives! I know that my Heavenly Father KNOWS me by name and that he WANTS me to return to live with him. I know that through the power of prayer, I can find peace, knowledge, and comfort.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith day by day. I work hard to do the things that my Heavenly Father would have me to do. I don't get everything right, but who does? To help get a few more things right this year, I made spiritual New Years Resolutions for myself instead the typical ones like losing weight, exercising, or paying off a debt. The prophet Gordon B. Hinkley encouraged us to gather with our families weekly to sing, talk, play, and learn more about the gospel. He promised that if we would do so we be would find safety and be greatly blessed in our homes. 2010 is our first year gathering together on a consistent basis to have this "Family Home Evening." Baby steps, right? I pray together with my child daily, we attend church weekly, we attend the temple regularly, I believe and represent Jesus Christ to the best of my ability. I live my faith consciously and with effort...

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Brittany Geiger!
Having faith in Jesus Christ should influence EVERY aspect of your life. If you have faith in him, you will have faith in his teachings and strive to emulate those! If you believe that he forgave even those who crucified him, it will be much easier for you to let go of those petty little battles within your home! Jesus loved completely, forgave completely, and followed his father completely. If we will follow these same principles faithfully, then our families and friendships will be strengthened! My faith in the perfection of Jesus' life gives me something to work toward, the perfect example to model my life after. Show more Show less
