Hi I'm Ruth Kathryn, (Kathy)

I am a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I have four grown children and I have been married 39 years! I am a retired web designer, I love to read, write, play with my grandkids, work and play on my computers. I like almost all kinds of music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who seldom went to church. I was baptized at age 10, thanks to a persistent grandmother. When I was a young teen, I began to go to church on my own, even though I wasn't really accepted by the other teens (I feel this was because of my father's smoking, I smelled of it) but I could feel the spirit strongly, and due to very dedicated primary and Sunday school teachers, I continued to go to church. Today I am in my sixth decade of life, and I know that this church is true and it will help me to return to Heavenly Father. I know Jesus Christ is Heavenly Father's Son, and that by Him and through Him I can repent of my sins, and will someday be exalted. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he saw God and Jesus Christ. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon from golden plates. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is now the prophet of God and speaks for Jesus Christ on Earth.

How I live my faith

I try to remember that every person is a child of our Heavenly Father, therefore they are loved by Him. I strive to live my life in harmony with the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am the secretary of our ward Relief Society. I belong to the ward choir, and I love to sing praises unto God! Church hymns are comforting and uplifting. I find it very satisfying when I see the reaction of the congregation when the choir sings and how we touch them.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Ruth Kathryn, (Kathy)
I am so blessed to know that I will be with my dear husband forever. I believe that our family can live together in heaven. I cannot imagine life without my husband and family, nor can I imagine God taking that away from us. But we must be obedient and do the things that we are commanded to do before we can be sealed to our families forever. Our temples help us to prepare for eternal life with our families and within the temple we are sealed by God to be together forever. Show more Show less
