Hi I'm Lisa

and, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am what some might call a "born again" Latter-day Saint. Almost 20 years ago, after 20 years of inactivity, I returned to the fold. The Lord has watched over and blessed me all my life but until I returned to full activity, I did not know true happiness or joy. Although I am single in a family oriented environment, I stay busy with extended family, friends, church callings and full-time employment as a Paralegal/Office Manager.

Why I am a Mormon

My favorite LDS Hymn is "I Stand All Amazed". The words of this hymn say so much about my personal feelings about what our Savior Jesus Christ has done for us. Without His atonement and standing invitation to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father, there would be no purpose to life.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve over the years. It seems that every time the Lord sees an area in which I need to grow, he issues the invitation to serve. I currently serve as the 2nd Counselor in our Stake Relief Society Presidency and as a Seminary Teacher for my Ward. By making every effort to fulfill these callings, I am able to stay focused on the Lord's commandments and my commitment to keep those commandments.

What is being a Mormon like?

To me, being a member of this church is a way of life. It influences every decision I make. Having made covenants with the Lord to "always remember Him and to keep his commandments" is something that can't be done for just an hour once a week. Our "block" of meetings on Sunday is our way of helping one another gain strength and knowledge. What we do and how we act the rest of the time is our way of being deciples of Jesus Christ. Because we hold ourselves to a higher standard of living than a lot of people, when friends, acquaintances or co-workers know we are Mormon, they except the same. Keeping forefront in my mind the covenants I've made makes it easier to ignore the unrighteous things of the world and live as the Lord would have me live. Show more Show less

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

No one is denied membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of race or color. A loving Father in Heaven created us all and loves us equally. He wants all of us to return home to him. Show more Show less

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the women's organization of the Church. It is the largest women's organization in the world. Every female member of the Church, at least 18 years of age, is a member of this extraordinary organization. Our moto is "Charity Never Faileth". Our goal is to bring others to Christ. I believe it was President Gordon B. Hinckley who once said something to the effect of, "If you want something done, assign it to the women and then get out of their way." Show more Show less
