Hi I'm Taylor

I was born, raised and currently live in Arizona. I'm a Mormon and grateful.

About Me

I am the oldest of 8 children. I am married with 13 amazing children. I went through a divorce and had 6 children at the time. I found the most amazing woman to be my wife. We were actually childhood acquaintances. She had 5 children and together we have two more incredible children of our own. My 2nd oldest son and his wife just brought us our first grandchild--Brigham Taylor Durrant. My 4th and only daughter will be bringing me my 2nd in March. My oldest child, will be getting married in October and will hopefully bring me my 3rd in 2013. My wife and I have a real estate business that we work out of our home. This is a real blessing because it allows us to always have contact with our children. I am also a certified Athletic Trainer. We enjoy gardening and the outdoors. I just finished putting together 5 garden boxes and 1 sandbox for the kids to play in. We enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, reading, networking and learning.

Why I am a Mormon

Because when I follow all of the church's principles I am Happy. That is the bottom line. I feel peace in very troubled times. I feel secure and safe. I feel loved and blessed by my Father in Heaven. I know He knows me personally. I live the best I can so I have the right to receive his guidance and direction, which I feel through the Holy Ghost. I feel comfort and strength when I read His words from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I have more opportunities to help others. I have opportunities for growth through service and assignments. It teaches me responsibility, self-reliance, faith, trust, courage and love. This is the church of Jesus Christ and I am closer to Him because of my membership in His church.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday I take my family to church and enjoy the opportunity of worshiping with others that live in my ward. I enjoy being assigned to help 3 specific families in my ward and visit with them at least once per month. I also assist approximately 2500 members with food canning projects. I enjoy helping them become more self-reliant. Each day I do my best to stay close to my Father in Heaven by doing 10 things. Pray with all my heart, Feast on the scriptures, Exercise, Stay positive, Put off thoughts that will take away from my true happiness, find appropriate and enjoyable activities, Abhor evil, Ponder the scriptures and modern day prophetic teachings, Evaluate and Analyze what is true and right, Endure each day with an eye single to the glory of God. Give service wherever and whenever possible. Thank goodness when I fall short I can repent and use the Atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why don't Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church's law of health and proper diet?

Taylor
Because these are substances that have great potential for controlling our bodies. Why do so many people "have" to have their coffee and their tobacco? Because the body develops an addiction to them. We lose control of our faculties when we consume these in great measure. The Word of Wisdom advises us to consume natural foods that have been proven to be good for our bodies. Show more Show less
