Hi I'm Gary Lee, Jr

About Me

My wife Melissa & I have been married 22 years. We met in college and now have six children; three girls and three boys, from ages 4 to 20. They are each unique and we are blessed be their parents. We love doing things together indoors and outdoors. We like to go boating, camping, snow & water skiing, biking, jogging, just about anything outdoors. And we enjoy the indoors as well, reading, movies, games and having meals together as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have studied and lived the teachings of the LDS Church my whole life and know that Jesus Christ established His Church on the earth. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. His church was lead by a living prophet then and still is today.

How I live my faith

We strive to improve each day and follow our Savior's example. Each morning (well... most mornings) we wake up and read scriptures together as a family before we eat breakfast. We also start and end each day with a family prayer. These simple actions have brought so much peace and happiness into our home and has helped us grow closer as a family.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

As stated by in a document written by church leaders, “The Family: A Proclamation to the World”: “All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose. “In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize his or her divine destiny as an heir of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally. “The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife." I believe this to be true!
