Hi I'm Jennifer

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

About Me

I became an investigator of the church in Feb 2007 and was deeply moved by everything I was taught. I was baptized in August of 2008 and will be sealed in the temple to my husband in June 2010. We have come a long way, but have thoroughly been blessed on our journey. I am the first person in my family to join the church and since then 4 other members of my family have joined. We enjoy sharing our beliefs and testimonies with each other and all our friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Wow --this is a really good question. I would have to say the number one reason I am a Mormon is because I truly believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored, that it began in this dispensation through Joseph Smith and that we currently have a living prophet on the Earth today. As I was going through the initial lessons with the missionaries things began to "click" for me. There are things that I believed and things I didn't believe prior to learning about the church. I had questions and didn't have the answers (ps I still have questions!) The missionaries were able to answer a lot of questions for me and others I have been able to have answered through reading the scriptures. I felt deeply "at home" when I began attending sacrament meetings at my ward. I knew that what I was being taught was true and as I pray to Heavenly Father every day and He reinterates that these things are true, I know that I have made the right choose in the church. Sometimes I feel like a Lamanite that has converted and now live among the Nephites -- very strong and firm in my faith and I love to watch it grow each and every day!

How I live my faith

My first calling in the church was Assistant Ward Librarian. I had a lot of fun in this calling as I was able to meet many people and learn about the other forms of information provided to us about the gospel -- i.e. The Ensign, The Friend (which are church publised magazines) and various church movie dvd's. Next I was called as president of Young Women's. "Young Womens" is a class within the church made up of young ladies ages 12-17, some may turn 18 in this class, but after their 18th birthday they will move onto another class. This really excited me in that I was able to learn about the Young Womens program, considering I am a convert. I was really able to learn what went on within the Young Womens and Young Mens (like group consisting of young men ages 12-17) programs and how the teens of our church live the gospel. I was recently released as Young Womens President and although I don't technically have a current calling, I have been asked to be a sub teacher in Primary. Again I feel blessed because I am learning what goes on in Primary with our younger children up to age 12 and how they are taught the gospel and how they understand it and live it themselves. Having the opportunity to work in different areas of the church has really helped me learn and build my faith.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Jennifer
No, Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, our Savior. Show more Show less
