Hi I'm Adam Lane

I'm a college student, I'm a reader, I love technology, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old and I was raised on a ranch in California. I have a big family and I love spending time with my siblings and my cousins. I am an Eagle Scout. I like to read, especially science fiction and fantasy. My current favorite author is Brandon Sanderson. I enjoy learning about computers and technology, I love being able to make a living creating cool programs and systems that people can use. I enjoy helping people and I try to contribute to everything I am a part of. I am a Masters student for Management of Information Systems and I work as a Web Developer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a member because I really believe that it is the actual church that was established by Christ and that teaches the truths about God and this life. I was raised in this church. I have done my best to live what it teaches. And I know that everything I have learned has been a blessing in my life. I think of what it means to know something, and I realize that we take so much for granted. I hope to never take God and his blessings for granted. He has blessed me and has sent the Holy Ghost to show me that this church is true. I know in my heart and in my mind that God is there, and that Jesus Christ lives. I know it in a way more personal, more direct, and more powerful than I know anything else. I know why I'm here. I know that my life can be influenced and directed by Jesus Christ himself. I know what I need to do to return to live with God forever. This knowledge is the source of all the purpose to my life, and the source of all the happiness in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by doing everything I already know I should be doing, and by studying and praying to know what more I should do. I try to participate in every part of the church, and try to offer everything I have to help. I have had many opportunities to lead in the youth groups, where I've helped to include everyone and use our time to bring us closer to Christ. I have also had the opportunity to volunteer and serve a religious mission. I served for 2 years in Houston Texas, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Spanish speaking people there. In my busy life, with being a full-time college student and everything else going on, I try my best to keep God first. And by that I mean making him a part of everything that I do, and making my choices based on what He would have me do.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Adam Lane
Family is so important to us because its with our families that we best learn to follow Jesus Christ and live the way he would have us live. With our families we can have a firm foundation in Gospel living and we can have the most influence at helping others come closer to Christ! Show more Show less
