Hi I'm Bill

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Retired, and enjoying life in Utah County, Utah. Married to a wonderful, spiritual woman who keeps me on the "straight and narrow path." I enjoy golf, family history, crossword puzzles, and hiking. We have 10 children and 21 grandchildren.... with more on the way

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of this church since 1956 and have never regretted making that decision. At the time, however, it was a big leap of faith, since the local congregation of members met in an old YMCA building. I had been used to more ornate and "churchy" surroundings in the church I grew up in. But I grew to love the people, the teachings, the doctrine, and the undeniable feeling that it all made sense and was true. I discovered for the first time in my life what it felt like to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost and the Peace of purpose that can bring to your life.

How I live my faith

I was so glad many years ago to realize that when the Lord said, "Be ye therefore, perfect", he didn't mean "sinless", he meant to strive to be the best you can each day, and work toward being "fully developed". That's a life long pursuit. I feel the best when I am helping someone else (and it usually doesn't come at a convenient time. :) ) I guess that's what the gospel refers to as "the law of sacrifice". Anyway, the Savior has blessed me so often and so abundantly for what little I do and I have come to realize that "service" is the source of real joy.
