Hi I'm Tristan John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of four children and married in 1999. We spend our free time as a family. We love to go swimming, canoeing, and camping. We also enjoy going to places that we have never been before. Our favorite destination is Disneyworld and we hope to take the kids back again someday. I love the Seattle Mariners, golfing, and cooking dutch oven. I am a CPA practising primarily in the area of income tax, business consulting, and planning. I mostly enjoy pushing the kids on the swings in the backyard and playing catch with a football, frisbee, or baseball.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel that this church teaches its members how to live a successful life. In this church I have been taught how to be a faithful husband to my wife and how to cultivate my relationship with her and show her that I love her by serving her and our children. I also have learned how to be a kind father who can teach his kids how to be responsible, loving, and willing to serve others. I want my family to be an eternal family so that we can be together forever after we have finished our lives here on earth. Through my membership in this church I have been able to stay away from the evils that destroy families and individuals in this world, such as; pornography, alcohol and drug use, infidelity, and selfishesness and other things that destroy families. I feel good when I attend church or read the Bible and Book of Mormon. It helps me to want to be better than I am and follow Jesus Christ's example of how to live my life. I know that it is only through Jesus Christ that these successes can be possible.

How I live my faith

I use my knowledge of finances and accounting in our church by keeping track of the finances in our unit. I help count the donation money and attribute the donation to the appropriate donors. I also balance our budget for the activities in our unit and write checks to pay for the expenses involved the activities. I enjoy helping our unit be organized in it finances. I also am a home teacher; this involves visting two of the families in our area and visiting with them to give them a friend who they can turn to when they are in need, visiting with them regarding their welfare, encouraging them to read the scriptures as a family and live the teachings of Jesus Christ. This is a great way for me to look out for my neighbors and serve them like Jesus would if he were here on earth. My membership in this church has also given me opportunities to serve others. I have helped numerous people load up or unload when moving, helped them with their yard work or snow shoveling. I have worked at our church farm sorting potatoes for humanitarian aid, assembled hygeine kits for disaster areas, sandbagged during a local flood, and worked in our cannery to make Chicken Soup. There are countless other opportunities that I have been invovled in or will be involved in to help others. I hope that as my children get older that they and I, along with my wife can serve others so that my children can learn to think of others needs and feel the joy that comes from helping others.
