Hi I'm Adam

I edit movies and record music. I teach piano and guitar lessons, and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children and am currently serving a mission. Yep, I am one of those guys in suits knocking on people's doors. I enjoy video editing and have taught myself how to do it. I am very interested in music and listen to all sorts of artists in many genres; anything is fine as long as it is uplifting and helps me feel good inside. I also play a few instruments - the piano, guitar, bass guitar - and have given lessons in the past. I enjoy reading about history, stories that examine human nature and what makes people tick. I study the U.S. Constitution, it's origin and the universal principles of freedom that guided it's creation. I absolutely love everything about our Savior Jesus Christ! I love learning about His teachings and how they apply into every aspect of our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have always felt that it was the place for me to be. As I grew older, I realized that I needed to know the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ for myself rather than just accepting it as fact because I had been told that it was true. So I began to question everything with a view towards truth and knowledge of the facts of the universe. I began to see just how every point of true doctrine builds upon the principle of personal joy and fulfillment. I know that this is more than just the "right path for me" but that this is the true path of Christ, for I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that God chose Joseph Smith to be a prophet and gave him the authority needed to make baptism valid in this life and in the life to come. I know that this path, while difficult, is the most rewarding. It is difficult because it requires strict obedience to all of God's laws. It is rewarding because adherence to the Lord's laws is true liberty - we shall be free from sin through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us. I have come to know the truth through the Holy Ghost, for it is His mission (as stated in John 14:26, 1 Corinthians 12:3 and 1 John 5:6) to speak truth to our hearts and testify of Christ. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that it is the only way I can be truly happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to do what the Savior would do if He were here. I am serving a mission for the Lord and preach the gospel to others and in doing so, I have been actively trying to refine my character and improve myself. In order to truly live the faith, you must always be working on progressing towards a better you and that better you comes through serving others as Christ would. Part of this service in which I am engaged is inviting others to follow our Savior. More than just being inviting others to be baptized, I am inviting others to change. True change is made possible through Jesus Christ and following His example in all things.

What is the priesthood?

Adam
The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name for the salvation of God's children. Those who hold this priesthood hold the same authority that Jesus Christ gave to His apostles in ancient time. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Adam
The Atonement is the term we use to refer to Jesus Christ's saving sacrifice. It includes His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, His suffering and death on the cross, and ended with His Resurrection. All of us have made at least one mistake in our life. Most of us (myself included) have made many. These mistakes cause us to be dirty before God. We must be clean before God if we are to live with God in the kingdom of heaven. If we could be unclean, then the kingdom of heaven would be unclean and we know this is not the case. Therefore, we need someone else to cleanse us of these blemishes if we are to return to live with our Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ has made it possible for us to be clean. He suffered all things so that we might not suffer, IF we will repent. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin - even though He had never sinned in His life. The punishment for sin is death, so He chose to die in our place. He did this to satisfy the demands of justice, and because He loves us. Because He has paid the penalty we are free - yet again, IF we choose to repent. In order for us to be totally clean, we must have faith in Jesus Christ, repent, be baptized, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and then continue to be faithful to God and His commandments.
