Hi I'm Anya

I love to sing, dance, and play in the rain. I love my family and I believe together we can make a difference. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a graduate student studying to be a School Counselor. I believe people can succeed if we believe in them and I look forward to helping many students believe in themselves and create brighter futures. I have learned my family is one of my greatest blessings and I love the way we all help lift each other. I am grateful that my life hasn't turned out the way I planned it to be when I was younger, turns out the plan Heavenly Father has for me is way better than I ever imagined. I love living close to the mountains and all the beauties of the earth. I love going for walks on sunny days and capturing quiet moments in pictures and in my memory. I love music, and dancing and I love being able to help others in any way possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I have wonderful parents who are members of the church, and was lucky enough to grow up with the gospel of Jesus Christ in our home. I remember always liking church, and never feeling pressured to go. However, when I was in my teenage years I came to a point where I really wanted to know for myself and be clear as to why I chose to continue attending church. Through continued prayer, scripture study and church attendance, I came to really feel the love of my Heavenly Father. I understood that the promises that he has made to all of us, as His children, are true and real whether found in the scriptures or heard from living prophets. These promises apply to everyone, if we will but follow his commandments and our Savior Jesus Christ. I know there is a plan, even a plan just for me, and I know that plan is meant to help me find happiness. I am a Mormon because my heart sings of a Savior, and I have learned through my own studies and search that Christ lives, and is the head of this church. He leads me, he loves me, and he loves all of us. I am grateful for the sacrifice he has made for us to return to our heavenly home. When I think about that love, it helps me to remember our great worth.

How I live my faith

I attend church with many other young people who share my faith. We serve and lift one another in different aspects. I love getting to know people in and out of church, and have opportunities to make monthly visits, and serve in many ways by sharing my talents with those around me. I also love to volunteer and reach out to the community when possible. I pray daily to feel God's love and to know how I can share it with others. I am learning daily to see everyone as our Heavenly Father sees them. I believe His love transcends all barriers.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

Anya
Christ has always taught the importance of Charity and Compassion. He is a perfect example of these attributes. There is just something amazing about trying to see others the way God sees them. We are truly children of God and when we try to see other people through God's eyes, or entire perspective will change. I am an imperfect person and I am so grateful for the unconditional love that I can feel from God, and for the sacrifice Christ made for me so I can overcome my weaknesses. Because the savior believes in me, and I can feel that love, it makes me want to believe in the potential every man has to become like Christ through the blood that was shed for each of us. Everyone deserves to be shown love, and I know from personal experience that when you have even one person who believes in you sometimes that's all it takes to make the biggest difference.
