Hi I'm Benjamin Clarke

I grew up in Alberta, Canada, I'm a carpenter, a teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 very active boys and one beautiful daughter. I love all sports and love to teach and encourage healthy living in my community in both work and volunteer venues. I have had a roller coaster of a family life and have found that my faith in Jesus Christ has seen me through it all. I have never felt their presence so close and tangible.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but as with each member of the church we each have to learn for ourselves whether or not what we were taught is true or not. I have seen others who spent their whole life working or seeking for the things of the world. Money, fame or other temporal things. It has been through the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that I have been able to find true peace and hope. When you look at your new born child and know that he or she is yours for eternity, not just until one of you die but forever, there is a burning, a confirmation that there are things of such greater worth than anything offered here in mortality. When you have conflicts with spouse, it is easier to overlook and/or forgive when you see things that are eternally important. I've heard it said Heaven would not be Heaven without my wife, my boys and my daughter.

How I live my faith

In a word, service. Although I often fall short and forget my focus, I try to serve others and see them how Heaven sees them.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Benjamin Clarke
In our society we often seek for fairness and/or equality. Well not everyone who has ever lived on this world has had the oppotunity for peace, for happiness, for knowledge and for love. It is because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that every single person who has ever lived on this earth shall live again. It is because of the atonement of Jesus Christ that we may be forgiven of our sins and try again dependant of the knowledge we have gained. Because of the atonement every single person will have the opportunity to accept or deny the gift of the atonement. Everyone will be given a fair and equal opportunity for happiness. All because He loves you. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Benjamin Clarke
I would say in a lot of ways the same as everyone else. Busy....Soccer practice, Scouts, Parents associations etc. The difference maybe though that when you have a fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the ordinances that bind you to Him and your family forever you have an extra, inner strength. A strength that gives you peace and happiness in turmoil. Besides this a huge part for me is a living Prophet who guides us with suggestions of balance and focus. Something I think the whole world could benefit from. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Benjamin Clarke
Simply put, the husband is the provider and the wife is the nurturer. These roles are side by side not one above the other. Each is to support and help the other as a inseparable partnership. Show more Show less
