Hi I'm Ty

I'm a student, studying special education. I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 22 year old college student. I love teaching, running, hiking, dancing, and reading. I am studying to become a Teacher in Early Childhood Special Education. I'm engaged to be married December 28th 2012.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where loving parents taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We prayed daily together as a family and studied God's word from the Book of Mormon and Bible. This brought unity and God's spirit into our home; we were kinder and more Christ-like because Christ's teachings and example were part of our day to day conversations. As I grew I learned that I could not rely on my parent’s knowledge of Christ's Teachings or their belief in Him. I recognized I had a choice, to live my faith, or not. I saw the effects of living, or choosing not to live, Christ's teachings in the lives of those around me. I felt the increase of joy and purpose in my life as I drew nearer to God by reading His word and living His teachings. I choose to be a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the “Mormon Church”) because I have learned for myself that it is God's Church true and living church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I have a great love of working with people with disabilities. As a child I watched my grandmother care for a disabled uncle, and that started a desire in me to help sick struggling and disabled people. I currently work as a Nursing Assistant at a physical rehabilitation facility. It is very rewarding to help people who can to little for themselves get stronger learn skills to live as independently as they can. I also enjoy doing Temple and Family History work, and have recency accepted responsibilities for teaching and organizing activities and classes doing that work with other young adults in my area.
