Hi I'm Michael Barber.

I grew up in Lilburn, GA. I am currently an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident, husband and father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 2nd of 5 children and I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia. I did my undergraduate studies in Utah. When I was 19 years old I served a church mission in Maracaibo, Venezuela for two years. After my undergraduate studies in Utah I went to dental school in Michigan. I am currently an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident. I am the proud father of one little boy and have been married to my beautiful spouse for almost 8 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints because I know it is true--how do I know it is true? The scriptures tell us that if we want to gain enlightenment on a certain question we must ask our Heavenly Father and he will answer our prayers. I know that to be true because I have asked our Heavenly Father and he has answered my prayers. Being a Mormon has brought peace into my life and provides the guidance I need to keep the commandments, grow spiritually each day, helps me to be a good father and husband.

How I live my faith

Each and every day I try to be a good member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I try my very best to be a good father, spouse, coworker, and friend to everyone I come in contact with. I look for opportunities to volunteer my time and talents in my community, work and church. Being a health care provider I have had many opportunities to provide health services to those in need and consider it a blessing that I have the opportunity to do so. I also consider it my responsiblility to be involved in whatever community I live in. I currently live in Georgia and seek opportunities to be involved in my community and be an active voter in the current town I live in. We must "build where we stand" I have had many chances to volinteer in my church and have spent countless hours doing so. Recently I spent several years waking up at 5:30 am every morning to teach a group of high schoolers about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I currently volunteer for several hours each week teaching 7 and 8 year olds about the gospel of Jesus Christ.. The "family" is an essential component in the world today. My family is extrememly important to me and I consider my "calling" as a father and spouse as something sacred and a blessing. I try each and every day to be the best father and spouse, treating my wife with love and respect and loving, teaching and guiding my wonderful little boy.
