Hi I'm Donn

I grew up in Brooklyn Center, MN but now live in Atlanta, GA.

About Me

I love music. I am a father of three and husband to Heidi. I graduated from BYU with a Finance Degree but ended up in Information Technology. My oldest child is working in the cosmetology field and lives at home, my second child is preparing to serve a mission for our church and my youngest is a Freshman in High School.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church which gave me a great foundation. I then went on to serve a mission in North Carolina where my testimony was strengthened tremendously. It might sound funny but the church just makes sense to me. It is the only church that I know of where you are encouraged to have your own personal conversion and personal relationship with God. I also see so much good that the church brings into its member's lives and to the world. The Savior said, "By their fruits ye shall know them" and there is much of good fruit in the church. I also have a personal witness that Joseph Smith was and still is a Prophet of God. He was chosen to restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which has been periodically taken from earth from time to time, in these latter days. I also know that the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith by the gift and power of God. We are not perfect people but we strive for perfection through the gift of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We also have the Priesthood in the church which is the authority to act in God's name. Our church is lead by a living Prophet of God with Apostles like when Christ originally organized His church on the earth. Though these men, you will also see that the church has an inspired organization with well defined programs and processes which aid in keeping the teachings and doctrines of the church well defined and open for all to see and know for themselves.

How I live my faith

I am an active member who tries to balance work and home life along with serving in the church. It is not always easy but worth it. My kids keep me very busy with school and church activities. I currently have two families that I hometeach (male members are assigned to visit and watch over each other's families). My son Nathan and I go together which is great. I also attend my weekly Sunday meetings which provide strength for me in my daily life.
