Hi I'm Natalie

Loving Life in Nebraska, the good life

About Me

I am from Nebraska and joined the church while studying in London, England where two lovely sisters came to my door with a beautiful message. There was no way I could deny the message that was taught to me. I changed how I followed the Lord and people could tell for the first time from the outside that I believed. I changed on the inside as well as I grew closer to the Lord and gained confidence in Him. I served a mission in Toronto, Canada where I spoke English and Spanish and taught people from all over the world. I was amazed and enlightened by the love of all people for our Savior Jesus Christ. I was impressed by how He truly impacts each and every person in the globe, even those who had not previously known HIm. I learned this further when my husband and I moved to China. I was impressed by the strength of the church, though few in numbers, the impact on society could be seen. I have a small baby who we are raising in the gospel and have felt the Lords presence in her life through watching her learn and grow. I am a stay at home mom and love being a wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know it is true and I realize that truth is what is important. Convenience and social acceptance are not what should direct ones life, but truth. I have learned the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way because I prayed about it, and I have lived what it teaches. I always remember Christ sacrifice He made for us and know that if He could suffer the pain and hardships than nothing, even giving birth, is too hard for Him to help us with. I know that following what we know is true is the only route to a fulfilling life, I am so grateful for the missionaries who came and taught me. I am grateful that this Church was willing to accept me and that the Lord gave me the chance to be baptized.

How I live my faith

My husband and I have served as ward missionaries and continued our missionary work together. This has been fun since we met while serving as missionaries in Canada. I have been able to teach those speaking Spanish and English and he has been able to teach in Chinese. While in China we were able to talk to a select few whom the government permits to join our church about Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ, Baptism , Faith and so much more. We try to live our life the way the Lord would want us to and change when we realize we should have done it another way. I am working with the young women right now at church, and am amazed at the values they learn, every sunday they recite the young women's theme which touches me every time: WE ARE DAUGHTERS of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. WE WILL “STAND as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are: Faith • Divine Nature • Individual Worth • Knowledge • Choice and Accountability • Good Works • Integrity • and Virtue WE BELIEVE as we come to accept and act upon these values, WE WILL BE PREPARED to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a book which supports the Holy Bible and tells of the coming of, resurrection and teachings of Jesus Christ. It is from another part of the world, but teaches the same things as the Bible so I know that the Lord is truly who He said He is. Both books testify of the divinity of Christ, neither take away from the other only enhance the truth which is written. I may not know as many verses in the Book of Mormon as I do in the Bible, as most my life the Bible has been all I have known, but I am slowly attaching meaning to the verses in my own life. Of all the books worth reading the Book of Mormon is one that will impact, strengthen and build a faith in Christ. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I think the best way to increase our faith in Jesus Christ is to rely on Him. Allow him to direct our lives. I have always thought of Christ in times I was scared and felt Him there with me. The sister missionaries taught me more though. We can increase our faith in Him through scripture study, knowledge about HIs mercy and miricles. I grow in my faith when I see the beauty of our world, art, animals, nature, architecture, music, people, stories of the past and how we have so much to be thankful for. Show more Show less
