Hi I'm Jeremy

I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah in a Mormon family and naturally grew up with plenty of church influence around me. I never felt the need to rebel too badly from my upbringing, but always kind of felt a desire to be Christ-like and be kind to those around me. I served a mission in 2000-2002 in Texas McAllen Spanish and English speaking, married a beautiful girl in 2005 and life seems like its never been better. I've served in multiple church callings and in the last couple years have had a huge desire to learn more about church history and dive deeper into various Gospel topics and find the answer to just about any question I've ever had regarding the church and the Gospel. I enjoy being creative. I'm involved in search engine marketing and am fascinated with the Internet and all the good it can do. I love how quickly knowledge and information can be spread and how easily people can connect with each other. I like to see how much the church has taken advantage of this new marketing outlet and love to share church teachings and news in any way I can online. I'm always reading about the latest technology and gadgets and how these things can improve the world. I also love to write and strive to uplift others with my writing.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I grew up Mormon, I've come to believe and feel that being a Mormon is a great blessing. I've had so many life questions answered and truly believe and understand that I am a child of God and that I can live with Him someday. Being a Mormon has taught me who I am, why I'm here on this earth and where I'll be going after I die. As I've studied all the teachings this church has to offer, I've found so much peace and happiness in its teachings.

How I live my faith

My faith and belief in my religion have always been so intertwined with my everyday life that I literally cannot imagine what my life would be like without Jesus Christ. Growing up I would hear people say they don't know where they would be without the church. After a lot of thinking I changed that phrase for myself to say that I don't want to know where I'd be without the church. To this day, it is impossible for me to go a single day without thinking about Jesus Christ, or even see how everybody and our everyday lives fit into the grand scheme of things.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Jeremy
It is natural for people to fear that which they don't understand. Many people today see what Mormons do and consider it weird and strange because they fail to comprehend the meaning behind it. Likewise in the time of the savior, many people mocked and scorned Jesus for the things that He taught. They failed to understand His messages and the few who truly wanted to search for the truth found it. Those people will real intent and having faith in Christ can find out the truth for themselves just like in the time of Jesus. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Jeremy
The Word of Wisdom is a health code that we abide by. It teaches us to not consume drugs, alcohol, coffee or other addictive or harmful drugs. We are also taught to maintain a well balanced diet and eat meat sparingly. We believe that since our bodies are a gift from God that we should follow the Word of Wisdom that God has given us and take good care of them. We believe that if we obey the Word of Wisdom we will receive blessings both physically with good health and spiritually with peace, happiness and joy. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Jeremy
The Mormon lifestyle isn't too much different from the lifestyles of other people. In fact, sometimes Mormons blend in with the crowd so much that other people aren't able to tell that there are Mormons in the crowd. With the exception of a few things, Mormons usually participate in the same type of social, political, and religious life as the rest of the world. We can often be found at sporting events, movie theaters, enjoying the outdoors, attending college or university and often times even in local or federal political offices. There are also many Mormons who have become celebrities in music, sports and TV and movies. However, according to our church teachings, we try our best to abide by certain honor codes and healthy living. We are taught abstain from drugs, alcohol, coffee, and other harmful drugs, as well as maintaining a well balanced diet. We are also advised to not view entertainment and media with immorality, vulgarity, profanity and nudity. In the workplace, we are taught to give our employers an honest day of work and earn our pay and benefits honestly. We do make mistakes like everyone else but like most Christians we try our best to follow the teachings of our Savior. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Jeremy
To me, faith is one of the greatest things ever. It is the ability to believe that something is true and exists without having ever seen it. We have faith that God lives and that He loves us even though we've never seen him. We can feel His love in our lives everyday. Being able to believe that we have a living Heavenly Father simply based on a feeling that we have is one of the most beautiful things in the world. We can receive a feeling in our hearts that God loves us and we can also know that He has given us this feeling. Faith is amazing. Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Jeremy
Mormons believe in a God that is our Heavenly Father that loves us so much and Jesus Christ as our Savior, whom our Heavenly Father sent to suffer for our sins to be our Savior and Redeemer. We believe that through the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us that we can someday return to live with our Heavenly Father again someday and live with Him and our earthly families forever.
