Hi I'm Matthew Williams

and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a 35 year old father of three fun loving kids. My wife and I have been married for 8 years. I currently taking a year off from teaching 5th grade to be at home with my two sweet red headed girls. I just finished running the St George Marathon with my Father for the 2nd year in a row. I live a very full life with a working wife, students, serving as a ward mission leader and visiting with friends and family, settling in to a new house, and balancing three active adorable children. I seek to serve my wife to the best of my ability and often times find myself lacking the discipline to fully give her what she truly needs. Yet by the love of my family, friends and Savior, I am able to find success among the many miracles that make up my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon or what I prefer Latter Day Saint over 10 years ago. I was baptized at the age of 23 on May 23rd, 1999. While already older than most missionaries returning from the field I decided after months of pondering and praying to serve a full time mission. I firmly believe I joined the Faith because of my family and the thought of my future family. I knew I wanted children and a wife. Just before my baptism my life was not in harmony to raise and fully support a healthy family. While I felt justified in my sins, I knew that there was something more to life than what I was living. With my Mom and Dad returning to full activity after 20 years, our lives all took a great turn for the best. I truly believe that all I have been blessed with and will be blessed with stems from my decision to put my life in the Lord’s Hands. He has truly kept his end of the bargain. With an increasing understanding of Jesus Christ, his mission and his eternal love I have been amazed at the many miracles both small and large that I have been able to witness. I look forward to many more miracles and great works that will continue to strengthen who I am and who I truly seek to be like. My faith in Jesus Christ brought me to Mormonism. It defines who I am and who I seek to become. It is my hope that my testimony and light will shine in way that others will seek Mormonism the way that I have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. I seek out my Heavenly Father in prayer. I attend church weekly with a commitmnet to bring a smile to those who cross my path. I am the Ward Mission Leader and enjoy working with the members and full time missionaries. My favorite days are those that include a baptism. I love the spirit that attends these sarced services.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Matthew Williams
Every son and daughter of our Heavenly Father needs the opportunity to have this sacred ordinance performed for them. I find this doctrine of baptisms for the dead refreshing. It gives hope to those that otherwise would not have it. When I reflect on my own baptism, I am touched by the sacred spirit that testified to me that Jesus is indeed the Christ; the Savior of my soul. All men no matter when or where they lived shall be greatly blessed by the sacred work we do with in our Temple walls. Show more Show less
