Hi I'm Chanel

I am a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.

About Me

I have been a member my whole life. I was married in the temple to my wonderful husband and I am a mom of 4 boys. I home school my boys, do webelos in my church cub scouts program and teach the youth on sundays. I really enjoy helping my kids and others discover God's love for them through my own testimony and the stories in the scriptures. I also love to sing, dance, exercise, learn new things, cook, garden, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church because my parents found and joined the church before I was born. I am both blessed and grateful to have been given this opportunity to be immersed in the gospel from birth on. I am still a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today because I have gained a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, The Bible and the Book of Mormon as holy scriptures and testaments of Christ, the return of modern revelation through modern prophets- starting with Joseph Smith and the power of God's priesthood which has been passed down through those who have been given the authority to act in his name. I know that Jesus is my Savior. I know that I am a child of God and have unlimited worth and potential in his eyes. I know my family can be together forever because of God's Plan of Salvation. I know that I can best obtain the blessings God has available to each of us by having the fullness of his gospel.

How I live my faith

I am of the mind that I am a follower of Christ EVERY day and that i need to be an example of that. I grew up knowing other people made judgements of the gospel according to how I acted or presented myself. I wanted others to see the gospel how i see it...an opportunity to know all that God wants us to know. I do my best to improve on living the gospel each day. There is always something I can do better. I have goals and plans for my life that i want to work towards and the gospel is at the center of them all. Progress is never giving up on yourself and your potential!

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The church does not endorse political parties and does not tell members who or what to vote for. We are all endowed by our creator with the ability to choose what we believe in and what we do. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

A restoring of Gods complete gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ was needed because the 12 apostles who were alive when Jesus Christ was crucified all died an no one was given the authority (priesthood) from them or Jesus Christ to continue his gospel on earth. The Bible was then change and revised to suit the beliefs of other religious leaders and faiths and many truths were altered or misunderstood without the guidance of Jesus and his followers. Until God chose to return this knowledge to the earth we were in the Dark Ages and didnt know how to be with our Heavenly Father again. For this reason God and Jesus Christ need to restored this knowledge to the world so we could choose to fepent of our sins and to follow all his teachings so we could be with him again. In whom should we have faith?

In God our eternal Father and in his son, Jesus Christ, the savior of the world. I seek to follow his teachings and find the church to be the most correct in following Christ's teachings and how he did things when he was on the earth. Show more Show less
