Hi I'm Eric

My wife and I are blessed with six children, five alive with us now. I have a background in veterinary medicine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have 5 living children with one angel child who died shortly before birth. I serve in our Stake as a counselor to the Stake President. I work full-time for the Church Educational System as a Seminary teacher for high school aged youth. Additionally, I am a certified veterinary technician who works periodically as a relief technician for a 24 hour emergency animal hospital. I love to hunt, fish and train my crazy bird dog in any free minutes I have. Our family stays busy and we love to play hard together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received an undeniable witness from my Heavenly Father that this is where I belong. I have come to know my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ through the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Indeed, I have followed the counsel given by James in the New Testament that "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering" (see James 1:5-6). I have asked God in faith if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I have received multiple witnesses through the Holy Ghost that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the Earth in its fullness. I have received so much joy and peace in my life because of this knowledge and have come to truly rely upon my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by trying to humbly follow the example set by my Savior Jesus Christ. I am not perfect but I try to be a good neighbor, help those who stand in need and look for ways to serve my community. As a family, we attend our Sunday church meetings weekly. Additionally, I serve in a leadership role within our local Stake. A Stake is comprised of multiple Wards or congregations. Each Ward is a geographical area that contains about 400 members of the Church. Our Stake consists of 10 wards. I serve as a Counselor to our Stake President as we attempt to minister to the 3,400 members in our Stake and the 48,000 neighbors who make up our little town. My role as a member of the Stake Presidency is to support the local clergy (known as Bishops) of our 10 wards. We strive to strengthen individuals and families and to strengthen faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. I spend a lot of my time teaching and training the adults, youth and clergy in our Stake as well as individually ministering to those who are in need on a more personal, one on one level. I have found great joy in trying to live the "pure religion" as defined by James, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world" (James 1:27).
