Hi I'm Stephanie Ann

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. I was baptized when I was 21. I heard about the church in Indiana.

About Me

I was baptized 34 years ago when I was 21 in Indianapolis, Indiana. No one in my family was ever a member of the church. My parents and other family and friends didn't want me to become a member. They wouldn't have anything to do with me for many years. I struggled most of those years trying to raise my 5 children in the gospel. I didn't have the support of my husband. The gospel of Jesus Christ was my strength and comfort through all my trials. Now the kids are grown and I am looking forward to my life in the gospel as a single person on my own. I am a professional artist. My degree is in fine art. I also teach art classes and volunteer a lot of my time. I'm looking forward to serving a mission in the near future.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to read the stories of Jesus in the New Testament as a child. I used to pretend I was there in the stories following Christ along the way as he walked among the people. Going to a Catholic school and attending mass every morning before school, there were many reminders that God is all around us. I wondered why the Lord came to the earth, ministered to the people, performed miracles, appointed apostles, etc. but seemingly not in this day. I wanted to know where He was! I bought a Bible and decided to read from front to back and try to find out why He seemed to be absent from modern times. I read in James1:5...if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God! That made sense so I determined to ask Him directly. Not long after that fervent prayer many things started happening. Many people came into my life who were church members. I attended sacrament meetings and heard the testimonies of others. My heart was so full of joy and burned to be a part of this church. I knew this was where Jesus Christ was and is! I have had many wonderful, spiritual experiences since then. As I have grown in spiritual strength and understanding, the Savior has made known to me that He lives. As I endeavor to improve at living the gospel I feel closer and closer to Him and feel I know Him. I know He is aware of me. I know He loves me. He is my friend and Savior. The more I live the gospel, the stronger my testimony grows.

How I live my faith

As a child I read the stories of Jesus from the New Testament. I longed to live during that time and follow him. I love the Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that if I live my life serving and loving others as He has counseled us to do, I will become more like Him and He will draw closer to me. He gave the example of love and service by the way He lived his life and also by His suffering, death and resurrection. In the past it has been hard not to judge others. But I have learned from my Savior to be more loving and kind. I'm trying to be like Him.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Stephanie Ann
Now that I have been changed by the Holy Ghost and know that Christ lives, I have learned not to try to "create" God. He's a real person. His thoughts and His ways are not my thoughts and ways. When I understand this I realize that He has a purpose for all things even though I may not understand. I may not agree or like some of the principles. I have to seek the reasons behind things so I can come to know Him. I am so very grateful that He is with us today and making preparations for us to return home to Him. I'm grateful that there are many good men called by Him to help do the work that needs to be done before He comes again. I hope I can have a small part in that work as well! How great is it to do the things that please the Savior! Show more Show less
