Hi I'm Rod

I grew up in the great state of Idaho and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 53 years old, have been a member of the Church since 1994. I am in the Food Service Industry and have been for 33 years. I lost my wife of 13 years in 2002 in an automobile accident. That was indeed the hardest trial in my life, but one I came through with the help of my children, family, friends, a good Bishop and the knowledge of the plan of salvation. I enjoy my children, grandchildren and yes great grandchildren. I love going to the movies and being outdoors. The golden rule in an important part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife was a mormon, though she wasn't currently going to church. I was semi-familar with the Church due to her and her family. The missionaries came knocking on my door one day and asked of I would like to know more about the Church. I studied, prayed about it and recieved a confirmation that it was true and was baptized 6 weeks later. I have enjoyed my membership ever since and have loved serving people in my ward and in my community. With my joining the Church my wife became active again which I know is what she really wanted.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best I can be. By keeping the Commandments of God and by studying His word. I believe that we need to be a good example no matter what we do in life. The best way to do that is always asking our selves WWJD, what would Jesus do, for He is the ultimate example. I love being with and teaching the children of our ward. They love learning about their Heavenly Father and their Savior.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

We believe that the Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead, which is God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a personage of Spirit who testifies the truthfulness of things to our spirits. Through him we can receive the knowledge that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost in my life!  Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Your kidding right? Jesus Christ is the head of our Chruch. We take upon us His name and constantly try to be like Him. All through the Book of Mormon it testifies of Jesus Christ and that he is our Savior and Redeemer so why wouldn't we be named as Christians? I love my Savior and know that He lives.  Show more Show less
