Hi I'm Sheila

About Me

I'm a country girl at heart, but now live in the city. I've been married for five years and have a Bachelors degree in Business Information Systems. I have two cats, Clare and Mella. I don't have any specific hobbies, but I enjoy being outdoors and traveling...and occasionally reading a good book.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the teachings of Jesus, and I feel that the Mormon faith follows the teachings of Jesus more closely than any other religion. I love being able to go to church each Sunday and learning how to be more like Jesus and how to be a better person. The Mormon Church is different from other churches because it teaches how I can be with my family forever - even after I die. That is very important to me, especially since my mom died when I was 20. I believe in life after death, and how could I be happy there without the ones I love here in this life?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I try to treat others as He would treat them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. Young men, generally between the ages of 19 and 25, women age 21 and older, and mature couples who do not have dependent children have the opportunity to serve full-time missions. Those who are not physically or mentally able to serve a full-time mission are excused from full-time missionary service. However, every member can find ways to help others come unto Christ.
