Hi I'm Josue Rivas

I'm from Guatemala. I served a mission in Honduras. I'm married and I have a little boy. He's a year old. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad. I have one son. I have a job and I'm applying to college. I like technology. I love movies, pizza, and my wife. :) I always appreciate good friends. I'm the kind of person who likes to take care of the planet. I like products that help the world to be clean or products that don't make a lot of pollution. I speak Spanish. I like to travel. I like to play soccer and watch many sports. I like to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

Everything started when my dad met the missionaries. They went to my home to teach my dad. So my dad started going and we went with him. But when I was 14 years old, he stopped going and I had to decide what to do. Something inside me told me that I shouldn't stop going to Church. So I kept going. When I was 16 years old, I decided that I had to be sure that all of the Church was true otherwise I was wasting my time. I read the Book of Mormon, and then I did what everyone should do to know if the Church is true: pray. I prayed and I said that I knew for a long time I've been attending church but I wanted to know for myself if it was true. After I said those words, a feeling started to grow inside me. Maybe, this is one of the hardest feelings to explain, but I can say that it made feel sure that everything is true.

How I live my faith

I always like to do service. It’s one of the ways I live my faith. I know that Jesus Christ was always willing to help people and he did many miracles to help others. I like to participate in my ward activities. They are fun and we can learn from others how to make improve in our lives. Every Monday night we have Family Home Evening. If you don't what this is it's like a little reunion in our home when we sing, pray, and play. We have a little lesson about how we can improve our relationships as a family and society. We learn many things to be better people. We spend time together. I like to read the scriptures. I always try to show a happy face. I feel that everyone is happy when you show a happy face.
