Hi I'm Benjamin

I'm an English teacher and a Japanese-Chinese-American Mormon.

About Me

I'm an English teacher out on the Colorado plains. Our town is surrounded by section after section of wheat, corn, sugar beets, and the occasional section of sunflowers. On a windy day, which is nearly every day on the plains, you smell the fragrant perfume of finest manure from the local feedlots. I've been happily married to my wife for about five years now and still think I was a pretty smart guy to have picked her. We are expecting a baby girl any day now and are so excited. Life is good! And we attribute that to the many blessings and trials a loving God has given to us. We are grateful to the Lord and really believe that He's in charge, that He's watching over us, and that He loves us so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is led by the Savior Jesus Christ. I believe that He restored truths that were lost over time to Joseph Smith, a modern day prophet who was called by God. I believe that by following the teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and by accessing the blessings He has made available once more, I and my family can be happy in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I guess I just try to use the talents God gave me. For instance, I like to work with kids so I became a teacher. I also coach the wrestling team and the long-distance team for track. I like old people so I directed an Adopt-a-Grandparent program in college where we went and visited old people. Stuff like that.
