Hi I'm Dan

I am an ego waffle eater. I'm a college student. I am a mormon.

About Me

I eat 2 toasted ego waffles with peanut butter and syrup on them every morning. I grew up in Utah hiking mountains and running track. I ran division I track in college as a freshman and loved it but decided to focus on school and other things. I'm not a big TV watcher but I'm a big fan of Seinfeld. I like playing guitar if friends are around. I don't know how to break dance but someday I'd love to learn. I've travelled to Japan, Belize, Guatemala, Central Mexico (Copper Canyon), Reunion Island, Mauritius, Egypt, Jordan, Israel/Palestine, Alaska and and lived in Hawaii for a year. I'm just finishing up college, loving life, and hoping to change the world in some way :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Mormon home. When I was in 8th grade I wanted to know if this "church thing" was true. So, I started to read from the Book of Mormon. Everyday after I read I prayed. In my prayers I would ask if the church was true. After doing this for about a month I received an answer, peace in my heart and I feeling that it was true. I believe in Jesus Christ. I know that in following him I have been blessed with strength to face trials. I've been given power to overcome challenges. Following Jesus Christ isn't easy, but it has been so worth it and I love trying. In serving others you find happiness, in caring for them you find peace and in loving them you find yourself.

How I live my faith

I'm not the type of person that wears my religion on my sleeve, but I do try to always keep it in my heart. I look for the good in others, and I emphasize it. I treat others for who they can be, instead of treating them for who they are. Each month I visit various members of my faith. I share messages about Jesus Christ. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon daily and I love doing it, I learn so much. Sometimes I go out of my way to serve, but usually I try to find opportunities to serve along the way. I'll cheer up a roommate; I'll smile at a stranger; I'll help out friends with school work--I do things like that :)

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Dan
They will talk to you about principles of our church and how they can help you in your life to be happier and to have peace in your life regardless of the challenges you face.. Sometimes what the missionaries teach may seem a little foreign at first but having been a missionary I've never met someone that listened with their heart and with an open mind that regretted talking to us. Tell them about your questions and or concerns with life and then ask them, "How can knowing more about your church/Jesus Christ help me?" Listen with your heart and I'm sure that you'll learn something that will help you regardless of who you are and what your situation is like. Show more Show less
