Hi I'm Quinlan

I am a Father, a husband, a Corrections Officer, I am a fighter, I beat the odds and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I was born needing to fight for every breath I took. Being born with health problems I was told for much of my life that I couldn't do things; so I found a way to do them. They said I couldn't serve a mission with my residual health issues but, I knew that if I wanted to serve the Lord would find a place for me to serve and he did. I was told that I would never have my own children in this life. After my mission I met a young lady who is my best friend and eternal companion. When we got to a point in our relationship that I was thinking about a more eternal situation I knew I had to tell her that I couldn't have my own children. I am happy to say that even though she had dreams of a large family she said yes anyway. I also know that because of righteous desires we are the proud parents of five beautifully perfect children of ours. I was told because I had kids so young that college and a good job would be out of the picture. I have graduated college and now enjoy a career as a Corrections Officer with the state of Colorado. It is a particularly challenging career to have and be a member of the Church. Everyday I am forced to deal with the truly lost children of our Heavenly Father and everyday I pray I can make some impact on them for good. My job makes me appreciate what I have in my life and I rarely miss the things I don't. In the beginning the odds were never been in my favor but, I am a fighter, a father, a husband, Corrections Officer but, most of all I am a son of God

Why I am a Mormon

For me, being Mormon is not a hobby or club. For me it is who I am. I may have been raised in the church, but it took me a long time to get to a point to where I would tell people I am Mormon because being Mormon is being the best that I can be. It's just who I am.

How I live my faith

Aside from the standard answers of " read, pray, go to church"; I strive everyday to have the spirit of Christ with me and I pray that others will see it an feel of it. I work in a very hostile environment and need to be on the straight and narrow if I want to get home to my family at night.
